"Hello, I am Anastasia, the homeroom teacher of Class 3, Grade 11, at First Affiliated High School." A cold, stiff voice came over the phone, "May I ask if you are the guardian of Marcus Shaw?"
By rights, a call with such an unfriendly, debt-collecting tone would be immediately hung up by Nora Scott.
But—
Because of the words "Marcus Shaw," Nora forced herself to hold her temper.
Marcus Shaw, the son born after Evelyn Easton remarried. His father passed away three years ago, and Evelyn Easton was gone six months ago, now making him an orphan with no parents.
There are no relatives on his father's side, and Antonio Easton asked Nora to take care of him, so until Marcus is of age, Nora is his guardian.
However, she and Marcus are almost like strangers, having met only a handful of times...
