Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Keep Staring and I'll Gouge Out Your Eyeballs

Suddenly, he closed his eyes with a smile at the corners of his mouth, planning to rest.

However, Pei Shu'er didn't leave; she truly was someone particularly capable of enduring and extremely rational.

If an ordinary person were nearly strangled to death, they would definitely want to stay far away from this person.

But not Pei Shu'er. She clearly understood that she and Tang Zan were tied together.

The World Power wouldn't allow her to kill Tang Zan, and if while Tang Zan was alive she sought protection elsewhere, this villain might drag her into Hell even if he goes.

Moreover, if Tang Zan died because of her altering the plotline, this world might also collapse.

Though he is a villain, if he dies, the plotline will collapse for a while, and the world would likely find another villain to fill in.

But, could a foreign soul like hers withstand the temporary collapse of the world?

Her physical body in reality was already destroyed; she now had only this one life.

She couldn't gamble.

At least until the end, he couldn't die.

If Tang Zan died, she couldn't survive either.

She kept a guard against Tang Zan while needing him alive as a tool.

Ah, Hell-level difficulty.

She glanced at Tang Zan's crutches.

It was just an ordinary stick, not particularly suitable in length.

This often caused Tang Zan to put force on his left foot.

But if Tang Zan didn't want his condition to worsen and die suddenly, he absolutely couldn't let his left leg touch the ground, or the injury would become more severe.

Pei Shu'er thought for a while and then decided to make a crutch for Tang Zan.

In that way, Tang Zan wouldn't need to put his left foot on the ground, and he could walk faster and more stably.

She had considered a wheelchair and trolley, but they were impractical.

A wheelchair would be difficult to use on such rough mountain roads, whether Tang Zan pushed himself or someone else did.

As for a trolley, it required too many materials, and without someone to push it, it would actually add to the inconvenience.

When conditions allowed down the line, Pei Shu'er could make it.

For example, for the two little ones.

Pei Shu'er sighed; she really had no resistance to children.

But she also disdained involving the two kids because of her entanglements with Tang Zan.

While making the crutch, Pei Shu'er drank some Spiritual Spring Water, cut off three branches of appropriate shape with a sharp stone, then looked at Tang Zan.

"Take off your outer garment. I'll make you a crutch."

Tang Zan looked at Pei Shu'er mockingly, not speaking.

Pei Shu'er's words were mostly a tentative test.

At the same time, she wanted the villain to open his eyes to see how much she had done for him and how difficult it had been.

All these were her capital for survival in the future.

She seemed somewhat disappointed, bowed her head, and ripped off the hem of her outer garment, wrapping and fixing it on the crutch.

Then, Pei Shu'er carried the crutch over.

"Get up for a moment. Let me see if the height is suitable?"

Seeing Tang Zan's eyes neither curious nor indifferent,

Pei Shu'er mocked herself, took the crutch, put it under her armpit, bent her left leg, and walked for Tang Zan to see.

After Pei Shu'er walked a distance, Tang Zan finally raised an eyebrow with some interest, looking at Pei Shu'er.

Pei Shu'er walked back after making a circuit and placed the crutch by Tang Zan's side.

Only then did Tang Zan take the crutch.

Pei Shu'er sneered inwardly; worthy of a villain, utterly shameless no less than anyone.

Secretly so disdainful earlier, even having murderous thoughts towards her, now he can just use what she made without scruple.

This is what it takes to achieve great things; who needs that ridiculous face?

Tang Zan stood up, and when Pei Shu'er walked in front of Tang Zan, she finally realized how tall this man was.

At this moment, Pei Shu'er couldn't help but recall how Tang Zan was described in the original novel.

Slightly upturned phoenix eyes, thin lips lightly pressed, sharp and profoundly sculpted features, nine feet tall, slender and graceful, elegant and handsome, the very image of a young nobleman, naturally carrying a certain romantic flair.

His smile was like sitting in a spring mountain; even a fairy would be tempted to descend.

When he didn't smile, it felt like falling into an icy cave, with dark and cold light gleaming in his phoenix eyes, and the pressure around him could drop several degrees, controlling life and death with a word.

This was the description before his dark transformation, and after that, he was associated with demons and fiends.

Now, Pei Shu'er saw Tang Zan in a somewhat subtle semiformal state.

"Keep staring, and I'll gouge out your eyeballs."

Tang Zan noticed Pei Shu'er staring at his face, and he felt a strange pleasure in his heart, yet his words were utterly cold.

Pei Shu'er handed the crutch to Tang Zan, speaking rather indifferently.

"My eyeballs are a small matter; the fear is that gouging out my eyes, and then who would treat the Young Master's injuries?"

Tang Zan looked mocking at Pei Shu'er.

"You don't need to see yourself so highly."

Pei Shu'er smiled and looked at Tang Zan.

"For now, please endure it, Young Master. The journey of exile is dangerous, and there's no healer in this team. I believe the Young Master doesn't want anything to happen to your family."

Tang Zan's eyes carried a chill, as Pei Shu'er's repeated use of "Young Master" was merely mocking him.

On this path of exile, what "Young Master" was there?

Not to mention the title, even the Prince Mansion had vanished without a trace.

As Pei Shu'er thought Tang Zan was about to get angry again, she saw that Tang Zan had already propped himself on the crutch, and the height was very suitable, indicating that her previous estimates were correct.

She didn't bother talking to Tang Zan anymore, returning to her earlier sleeping spot and going straight to sleep.

Early the next morning, she got up an hour earlier.

Yesterday, she saw the clouds and knew there was a high probability of rain today.

This kind of weather was enjoyable for those without injuries, as they didn't have to walk under the scorching sun.

But for those with wounds, it was the worst situation.

Although Pei Shu'er had no injuries, she didn't want to get sick from the rain either.

So she gathered many large leaves, used some thin white herb to weave them together, and made a straw raincoat.

Seeing it was still early, she made two smaller ones for the kids, finishing just as the government officer struck the gong.

"Get up, time to hit the road."

Tang Qinghuan and Tang Shuo, the two kids, were sleeping so sweetly, yet they were pulled up, rubbing their eyes as they walked.

When they saw Pei Shu'er, their eyes lit up, and they followed on both her sides.

Liu Xu looked at Pei Shu'er, amused yet sympathetic.

It's hard to understand why these two children were so attached to Pei Shu'er.

"Please, take care of your brother and sister."

Pei Shu'er nodded with a smile, then looked up, meeting Tang Zan's dark eyes.

Pei Shu'er coldly averted her gaze, placing the straw raincoats in her basket, walking and chatting with the two little ones.

Their soft, innocent voices made even the journey feel less tiring to Pei Shu'er.

Somehow, dark clouds gathered in the sky, followed by a strong wind.

Seeing the color of the clouds, Pei Shu'er knew rain was imminent and put on her raincoat.

The two children watched her with curious eyes.

When Pei Shu'er pulled out the two smaller raincoats, the children cheered and hugged her legs.

"Sister-in-law, you're so kind; this green coat is really pretty."

Tang Zan glanced over again.

Pei Shu'er twirled the green grass hat in her hand, seemingly unintentionally glancing at Tang Zan.

She noticed Tang Zan's face looked awful, as if he would kill her in hatred.

The rain poured down quickly, raindrops hitting the body and quickly soaking through to the wounds.

Soon enough, the wounds were soaked and festering by the rain.
