Chapter 9 - Training in the Back Mountain

After Su Ziyan dealt with the bodies of these people, he stood up and clapped his hands.

He didn't expect that he could kill them without even using any magic weapon, and the consumption of his magic power was not particularly much, so he just needed to go back and recover.

At this moment, he realized that he seemed to have changed a lot. He was no longer trembling all over like he was the first time he killed those two people. Although he was still a little afraid of killing people, he was now able to slowly accept this fact.

He also learned about the cruelty of the world of immortal cultivation from the jade slips left by Ming Daozi.

In this world, either you kill people or others kill you. If you are not strong enough, you can only allow yourself to be killed by cultivators with higher cultivation than you.

If you are a little too soft-hearted, you will end up getting into a lot of trouble or even death.

So this is just the beginning. It allows me to experience this way of survival in advance, so that I will at least not show fear in my future practice.

He knew that he was now a cultivator and would encounter more dangers in the future. Ming Daozi had said that the world of cultivation was a world where the strong preyed on the weak.

If he wants to survive in this world of cultivation, then from this moment on, he must make himself more ruthless and stronger so that he can live better in this world of cultivation.

After thinking about all this, Su Ziyan returned to his home, which was the dilapidated temple. He first took a bath in the pond, then took out a gray piece of clothing he had bought from his storage bag and put it on, and tied his hair up with a hairband.

He stared at his reflection in the water, and suddenly found that he looked quite handsome after putting on new clothes.

He withdrew his gaze, looked at his clothes again, nodded with satisfaction, stood up and walked towards the ruined temple.

He walked into the hall, went to the thatched bed and sat cross-legged. He calmed himself down, took a Qi-training pill and began to practice the Great Circulation.

On the second night, Su Ziyan opened his eyes, took out another fasting pill and a Qi training pill, swallowed them, and started practicing again.

He stopped practicing at noon the next day. By then his Dantian had returned to its full state. He was only at the first level of Qi Refining, so it didn't take that long to recover his magic power.

He took out the jade slips from the storage bag and started reading them again. Then he found out how to set up the spirit gathering array from a formation jade slip.

This is a formation to assist in cultivation. According to the jade slip, the Spirit Gathering Formation can gather the spiritual energy of the surrounding heaven and earth to assist those in the formation in their cultivation.

He watched excitedly, thinking that it would allow people in the formation to have more spiritual energy to help with their cultivation.

He didn't know that the pawnshop owner's disappearance was known the next day, and the officers and soldiers spent several days searching but couldn't find the owner's body. In the end, they all gave up.

At the same time, no one suspected the little brat Su Ziyan. They just suspected that the shopkeeper and others might have been killed by robbers.

Su Ziyan didn't ask about these things. Anyway, no one would think that they were killed by him.

When I killed those people, I didn't leave any traces. When I was still a beggar, it was not difficult for me to erase the traces.

He was still studying the spirit gathering array seriously at this time. Four days later, he began to try to set up the spirit gathering array. Fortunately, there were array flags in his storage bag.

This was specially left by Ming Daozi in preparation for his cultivation, and also to allow Su Ziyan to improve his cultivation faster and shorten the time for his plan.

After trying several times, I finally succeeded on the sixth try.

The spirit gathering formation is a circle-shaped formation made up of eighteen formation flags.

Su Ziyan placed a low-grade spirit stone under each flag, and the formation immediately began to activate and slowly operate.

He was watching from outside the formation and immediately sensed that the surrounding spiritual energy began to gather towards the formation, and finally sank into the formation and gathered at the center of the spirit gathering formation.

However, there was not much spiritual energy, very little. But he was still happy and immediately went in, sat cross-legged and started practicing.

Fortunately, this is just an auxiliary formation and does not require magic to activate. Otherwise, with Su Ziyan's current cultivation level, he would not be able to activate the formation at all, unless Su Ziyan reached the fourth level of Qi Refining.

He swallowed the pill and began to practice. The surrounding spiritual energy was absorbed by him and slowly decreased.

He knew that the spiritual energy gathered by the spirit gathering array was not very much. It must be that the spiritual energy here was too thin. He would have to go to a place with richer spiritual energy.

Thinking of this, Su Ziyan decided to practice in the deep mountains behind the ruined temple.

Apart from him and the old beggar who occasionally went into the mountains to look for wild fruits, no one else had ever entered this deep mountain.

But he never went in again after the old beggar died, because he didn't want to go in alone.

He did what he thought. He cleaned up the dilapidated temple and then went to the old beggar's grave to pay his respects.

Then he said in a low voice, "Grandpa, I am no longer the same person I was before. I am now able to support myself.

I am no longer the crybaby I used to be. You used to worry about what would happen to me after you left. Now you don't have to worry about it. I will live well and take good care of myself.

After saying this, he looked at the grave for a long time, then turned and left with mixed feelings, with a tear falling from the corner of his eye.

After all, after he lost his parents, it was the old beggar who took care of him and raised him. The old beggar was like his second parent to him.

He was leaving today, and he was reluctant to leave, but this was something he had to do.

He released his spiritual sense as soon as he entered the mountain. After all, there were many poisonous insects and ferocious beasts in the mountains, so he still needed to be careful.

But he found that the insects that were chirping where he passed by stopped one after another as if they were frightened.

Su Ziyan also knew that this was because he was a cultivator and there was a faint spiritual pressure on his body. When the insects were touched by this spiritual pressure, they stopped chirping and hid.

He continued to go deeper, and after walking over several hills, he encountered some poisonous snakes in the process. However, these poisonous snakes sensed Su Ziyan's breath and knew that Su Ziyan was in danger, so they ran away.

Half a day later, they finally found a place with rich spiritual energy in a wooded ravine. Although it was not as good as a paradise on earth, it was better than practicing in a temple.

He took out a low-grade magic weapon from his storage bag. It was a black iron sword. He used it to chop down some suitable trees around him, found a relatively flat place, and began to build a wooden house there.

He knew how to build a wooden house. At that time, when he went into the mountains with the old beggar, sometimes when it was too late, they would build a small wooden house to live in.

He used the black iron sword to chop trees and found that although this magic weapon had no magic power, it was still extremely sharp.

A tree as thick as an adult's bowl can be cut in half with just one sword. Su Ziyan couldn't help but think that if there was magic power to help, the power might be much stronger.

After thinking about it, I decided to practice hard and improve my cultivation first.

Just as he was busy working on a tree trunk, suddenly, Su Ziyan's expression changed.

Looking to his left with a serious look, he saw a black bear walking towards him. When the black bear stood up, it was much taller than both of them.

He looked at it vigilantly, and the big black bear was also looking at the tiny creature in front of him, as if wondering how long it would last if it ate this two-legged beast without having to look for food again.

...

Su Ziyan's hair stood up. He gripped the black iron sword tightly, practicing his skills, and spiritual power spread throughout his body. Although this black bear did not belong to the ranks of monsters, its strength was also extremely strong, probably even stronger than himself.

Soon the black bear's patience ran out, and it lowered its body and rushed towards Su Ziyan on all fours.

Su Ziyan looked at the black bear rushing towards him, raised the black iron sword and chopped it from top to bottom!

The black bear seemed to know the power of the sword. It quickly stopped, took a few steps back, and began to slowly circle around Su Ziyan.

Su Ziyan slashed the air with his sword, then pointed the tip of the black iron sword in his hand at the ground. He stood up straight and did not follow the black bear.

However, his spiritual awareness was always covering the black bear that was circling around him. His eyes were full of vigilance and his magic power never stopped!

The black bear turned behind Su Ziyan and found that he didn't notice him, so he slowly approached him.

When Su Ziyan waited until the black bear was only seven or eight feet away from him, he suddenly turned around and slashed at the black bear with the black iron sword in his hand.

The black bear seemed to be frightened by Su Ziyan's action and retreated violently, but it was too late.

The tip of Su Ziyan's sword scratched the black bear's chest, leaving a line of blood.

But the black bear did not die. It only had a horrible scar on its chest. Blood was flowing out from its left shoulder to its right rib. The black bear was completely enraged and roared at Su Ziyan.

Su Ziyan's expression remained unchanged, but he moved his body and rushed towards the black bear.

When the black bear saw him rushing over, it raised its bear paw as big as a palm leaf fan and swung it towards Su Ziyan!

Su Ziyan raised his sword to block, and the bear's paw hit the sword.

Bang!

Su Ziyan was slapped away by the black bear, and he slid more than ten feet into the ground with his black iron sword stuck in his body before he stopped!

Su Ziyan steadied his body and mobilized all his spiritual power to the extreme, then rushed towards the black bear again. He quickly arrived in front of the black bear, then jumped up and slashed at the black bear with a sword.

The black bear angrily slapped Su Ziyan's waist with its paw, as if it was going to fight with Su Ziyan!

Su Ziyan turned the direction of the black iron sword in his hand and chopped towards the black bear's paw.

With a swish, the bear's paw was chopped off by a sword, and the black bear's body was almost split in half by Su Ziyan's black iron sword!

With a loud bang, the black bear fell to the ground and bled all over the place.

As soon as Su Ziyan stopped, he felt that half of the magic power in his dantian was gone. He immediately took out a pill and swallowed it, then took out a low-grade spirit stone, sat cross-legged and began to replenish his magic power.

Because he didn't know if there would be other dangers later, he had to keep his magic power at its peak at all times. He only stopped at the hour of Hai in the evening.

He looked inward at his Dantian and nodded with satisfaction. Although it had not fully recovered, it had recovered almost completely and at least he had the ability to protect himself.

He stood up and began to build his own nest again, but his spiritual sense was always paying attention to the surrounding situation.
