Chapter 287 - Chapter 287: Terrifying Combat Power

Lingsha shifted her attention from her chest, and the mirror in her hand vanished into thin air, sent back through the Chat Group. In its place, an incense burner appeared in her right hand.

Just as Firefly carried her Transformation Device and Sparkle wore her mask, Lingsha possessed her own signature item: this small incense burner. She lightly pinched it between the thumb and forefinger of her left hand, and a visible stream of pink Qi flowed from the burner, coalescing into a swirling cloud in her palm.

How marvelous, Lingsha murmured inwardly. She discovered she could manipulate this scent at will, and thanks to her extraordinarily sensitive sense of smell, she immediately grasped its effects upon releasing it.

It was a potent anesthetic. Any normal person who merely inhaled it would lose consciousness within seconds, collapsing to the ground.

Furthermore, Lingsha found several other unique scents within the incense burner. One could heal external wounds, functioning somewhat like a healing spray from video games, but with far greater efficacy. Another could regulate the body's vital functions, addressing conditions like mental fatigue, physical weakness, and kidney deficiency.

Overall, the incense burner served as Lingsha's portable "medicine chest," filled with a vast array of medicinal "drugs." With her enhanced sense of smell and this "medicine chest," she could treat the vast majority of illnesses.

However, it was still just a "medicine chest." For common ailments like inflammation, fever, or colds, simply prescribing the appropriate medication would suffice. But what about more complex and severe diseases like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)? Ordinary medications would be ineffective against such conditions, requiring Lingsha, as a doctor, to manually intervene, crafting targeted treatments and devising personalized recovery plans. Clearly, she lacked the ability to "manually" cure illnesses at present, but she was content nonetheless.

At least with this medicine chest in hand, she no longer had to worry about exposing her true identity.

Just as Lingsha was about to set the incense burner down, a puff of pink smoke emerged from within, coalescing into the form of a rabbit. She paused for a moment, then quickly recognized it as a rare type of pet: a Smoke Beast.

Lingsha immediately reached out and stroked the rabbit's head.

Despite being called a Smoke Beast, this creature wasn't just a wisp of smoke; it had a tangible form and felt incredibly soft and fluffy to the touch. Just a few strokes were enough to lift Lingsha's spirits immensely—it was truly therapeutic.

Especially when the rabbit squinted its eyes and wore an expression of pure bliss.

Come to think of it, in the game Honkai: Star Rail, Lingsha's attacks primarily relied on this rabbit. But how could something so utterly harmless possibly have any combat capabilities?

Could it be that the rabbit used its Smoke Beast nature to carry specially enhanced scents to enemies?

That sounded plausible at first, but Lingsha realized her Incense Burner didn't contain any truly lethal scents. The most potent offensive scent was likely the "Anesthetic Scent" she'd mentioned earlier.

This made sense, though. What kind of doctor would fill their Medicine Chest with poisons? Were they going out to heal people or kill them?

Having thoroughly explored the area she could for now, Lingsha patted the Smoke Beast Rabbit on the head. As if understanding her gesture, the little creature turned and scurried back into the Incense Burner.

Lingsha quickly returned to the vicinity of the mountain cave. Though she had been gone for less than ten minutes, upon her return, she saw seven or eight massive monsters blocking the cave entrance, squawking loudly.

At first glance, these creatures resembled Velociraptors: bipedal with small claws on their chests. However, Lingsha immediately noticed a crucial difference: the lead "Velociraptor" suddenly opened its mouth wide, its skin rapidly turning crimson. Then, a raging torrent of flames erupted from its jaws.

Good grief! Is that even a proper dinosaur? How can it breathe fire?

With the tribe's strongest males away on a hunt as part of the hunting team, only the vulnerable women, children, and elders remained. Being ambushed like this was undoubtedly a perilous situation.

Lingsha immediately summoned her Incense Burner, gathering a ball of anesthetizing scent in her palm. But just as she prepared to fling it forward, an arrow shot out from the lingering flames. The immense wind pressure parted the raging fire, creating a circular vacuum.

The arrow flew undeterred toward the fire-breathing Velociraptor, piercing its throat and exiting through the back of its skull.

Thud!

With a soft thud, the two-meter-tall monster collapsed to the ground.

Immediately, Beast-Eared Girls with determined expressions surged from the mountain cave and charged toward the Velociraptors.

One of them leaped three meters into the air. Despite her bare feet, her delicate, unblemished soles showed no scars or calluses. Her foot slammed into a Velociraptor's head, and the monster's skull shattered like a watermelon, splattering red and white fluid across the ground.

The other Velociraptors fared no better. Utterly outmatched by the Beast-Eared Girls, the battle was a complete rout. In less than half a minute, every monster lay lifeless on the ground, none surviving.

Lingsha: "???"

Wait, how are these Beast-Eared Girls so strong?

Just those seven or eight Velociraptors alone would be a standard "Birth" type Dimensional Rift disaster in the Main World, requiring specialized personnel to handle.

Even if Lü Heng were here, equipped with all his professional gear, it would still take him considerable time to solo a single Velociraptor.

Without exaggeration, the combat prowess these Beast-Eared Girls displayed—arrows piercing flames to strike throats, skulls shattered with a single kick—far surpasses that of ordinary Evolvers in the Main World.

And remember, this was with the stronger Beast-Eared Men absent, leaving only the relatively weaker women behind.

After the battle, Lingsha cautiously approached the battlefield. She even saw one Beast-Eared Girl twitch her ears and exclaim excitedly, "Today's our lucky day! The prey practically delivered themselves to us!"
