Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

The fact that he didn't come to pick her up. 😤 Instead, he casually told her to walk down a narrow road for 12 minutes and meet him halfway.

"You love walking, right?" he had said over the phone. "Just come along, I'll finish my timesheet and meet you halfway."

Somika sighed. Seriously? She had imagined a romantic airport pickup, maybe even one of those sweet movie-like moments. But no. Here she was, dragging herself down the road, rolling her eyes at his very practical, but not-so-charming plan.

But as much as she wanted to be annoyed, she couldn't help but smile to herself. Because even in these little frustrations, he was still her favorite person. ā¤ļø

As he walked down the road toward her, Somika squinted, trying to make out his face. Of course, she wasn't wearing her glasses. šŸ™„ But even with her blurred vision, she could tell—it was him. The way he moved, the way he playfully dodged in and out of sight, as if playing hide and seek—she knew.

The moment they met, she didn't hesitate. She wrapped her arms around him in a warm hug, letting the familiar comfort of his presence wash over her. ā¤ļø

From there, he led her to his office parking lot, where his car was waiting.

Earlier on the phone, she had told him, "The sunset is so beautiful today!" šŸŒ… And being the thoughtful person he was, he had tried to take her to the top floor of the parking area, hoping they could catch the view together.

But by the time they got there, it was already too late. The sun had set, leaving only traces of color in the sky.

Still, the effort didn't go unnoticed. Somika smiled to herself, thinking, It's the thought that counts.

Seeing the slight disappointment in her eyes, he squeezed her hand and promised, "Next time, we'll watch the sunset together."

Will they? Let's see. šŸ’«

During the week Somika stayed over, they decided to chase the sunset together. šŸŒ… It wasn't planned—just one of those spontaneous, perfect moments that happen when you're with the right person.

But, of course, her perfect man had a work-from-home job and needed to submit his timesheet by 5:30 PM. So while she waited, she found herself slipping into his T-shirt—a soft, oversized Manchester United football shirt in a deep shade of red.

And wasn't red just the perfect color for love? ā¤ļø

The moment he finished his work, he wasted no time—picking out his clothes, checking the location, grabbing his car keys. And like a true gentleman, he opened the door for her, making her heart flutter just a little.

Before stepping out, Somika grabbed the unfinished bottle of wine šŸ· from the night before—a little reminder of their shared moments.

With everything set, they headed toward Box Hill, ready to chase the sunset together. ✨

But who knew? The parking location wasn't accurate. By the time they finally found a spot and got out of the car, the sun had already set. The sunset they had chased was gone. šŸŒ…šŸ’”

But did it matter?

Not really.
