Kiyosuke swung his sword repeatedly, deflecting the incoming chakra blades. Mōryō controlled its chakra as effortlessly as a normal person controls their limbs—it was instinctive, making it extremely troublesome to deal with.
Dodging an attack, he leapt onto a stone wall. A flaming spear formed in one hand, its crimson flames fueled by chakra, burning violently. He hurled it down with all his strength!
The flaming spear impaled one of Mōryō's heads, followed by a violent explosion.
Mōryō felt no pain. Using a chakra beam, it severed one of Kiyosuke's arms. The Kusanagi sword flew from his grasp and lodged into the wall.
"Without a weapon, what will you do now?"
Kiyosuke snorted coldly. Flames ignited in his eyes, and he whispered, "Weapons are unnecessary. True heroes strike with their eyes!"
The flames in his eyes burned a terrifying crimson. Two crimson beams shot out from his gaze.
Everything in their path melted away.
The beams struck Mōryō, severing countless heads—how many, no one could tell.
Seconds later, Mōryō reverted to its original form. Kiyosuke closed his eyes. Killer Bee said,
"Not bad! Don't you have anything stronger? Take this bastard down!"
"Do you think that move is simple? I can't see temporarily. My vision is affected and won't recover for a short while."
The intense heat from his gaze had a temporary effect on sight. Using it caused temporary blindness, but in Sage Mode, his sensory perception was greatly enhanced, compensating for the loss of vision.
This move could only be used in Sage Mode; normal flames couldn't reach that temperature, nor wield such power.
With his eyes closed, Kiyosuke relied on perception to dodge Mōryō's attacks. Standing atop the Eight-Tails' shoulder, he said,
"Mōryō and the priestess balance each other. To defeat it, we must rely on the priestess's power."
"The priestess as she is can't possibly defeat Mōryō. Does she really have that power?"
Shion's abilities only allowed her to foresee others' deaths, and not everyone could see them. Her other power was reinforcing the seal left by her mother.
The result was evident: Mōryō exploited a weakness, leading to its resurrection. Now Kiyosuke and Killer Bee had to hold it off.
Does Shion really has the power to seal Mōryō?
Killer Bee couldn't help but wonder.
"Who knows? All we can do is keep fighting!" Kiyosuke punched away a head. "Pretty words don't matter. Our chakra has limits. Over time, we could be worn down to death."
If Mōryō felt pain, its chakra would be comparable to theirs, and maybe they could defeat it. But Mōryō had unimaginable amounts of chakra.
It might rival the Ten-Tails.
In this situation, the two of them could hardly defeat it. Mōryō's body had just fused with its soul—it wasn't invincible yet. They had to find a way to defeat it.
And the hope to defeat it lay with the priestess.
Mōryō had said from the start that it and the priestess were the same entity, balancing each other.
So Shion was the only hope.
As Kiyosuke pondered this, a soft light approached, followed by Naruto's roar: "Watch this! Giant Rasengan!!!"
The Giant Rasengan shattered several heads.
Kiyosuke said, "Naruto, what are you doing back here?"
"Shion sent me!" Naruto pointed at her.
Killer Bee and Kiyosuke looked over. Shion glowed with a soft pink light. Purple patterns appeared on her face and neck. A powerful chakra radiated from her body. Behind her, chakra formed a pair of wings, like an angel.
"This is… an awakening?"
Kiyosuke sensed her chakra.
Focused entirely on fighting Mōryō, he hadn't noticed Naruto and Shion's transformation. Could it be that she had awakened?
Naruto said, "Kiyosuke-san, Eight-Tails-san! Shion has mastered her power!"
Shion opened her hands. The bell pinned to her collar shone brilliantly.
This was the power Shion had been born with. Her mother had sealed most of it in the bell, fearing she might be lost to its overwhelming strength. Only when Shion accepted her role as a priestess, willing to sacrifice herself for others, could she fully wield it. This power could help her seal Mōryō.
A priestess always has one enemy: Mōryō that is her other half.
On the way, carried by Naruto, Shion made her choice—she would sacrifice herself to seal Mōryō. Her resolve lifted her mother's seal, granting her the power to subdue it.
Softly, she said, "Mōryō, our business ends here."
"Hmph! Once I devour you, I will be whole again. Then I will destroy this world! What good is your power? Your mother had the resolve to sacrifice herself to seal me. Do you? You're just a teenage girl with plenty of time. Will you really sacrifice yourself for a group of ugly humans you don't even know? Don't make me laugh, Shion. You're not as great as you think!"
Mōryō spoke, but Kiyosuke and Killer Bee severed its neck again. It felt nothing.
"Stop whining with your useless talk!"
Flames erupted from Kiyosuke, forming pillars. A golden hand shot out and gripped Mōryō's body.
"Killer Bee, buy them time!"
"Got it!"
Tentacles extended, locking down Mōryō's eight heads—one for each tail, even biting one with its mouth.
"Go!"
Many hands emerged from the flames. Kiyosuke poured chakra into holding Mōryō, no matter the cost. As a head emerged, it was suppressed by a fiery hand. Another head came, another hand slammed down.
"You humans!!!" Mōryō roared.
Shion approached Naruto and smiled gently. "Naruto, hold out your hand."
"Huh?" Naruto complied. Shion placed the bell in his palm. "Together, use this power to defeat Mōryō!"
"Alright! Let's go!"
Naruto tightened his headband, wrapped one arm around Shion's waist, and leapt toward Mōryō with her.
With one hand raised, a pale purple Rasengan condensed in it.
"Take this! This is our Super Chakra Rasengan—mine and Shion's!!!"
