"Mmm… I have to admit, Kirigakure's fishballs really are delicious."
Wandering along the streets of Kirigakure, Kiyosuke munched on a skewer of fishballs he'd picked up after slipping out of the hospital. To be honest, the flavor was exceptional.
As for the view?
Forget it.
This place was shrouded in thick mist year-round. You could barely see three steps ahead. Who felt like sightseeing?
He tossed the last skewer stick and left with a large bag full of fishballs.
Currently, he was living in the hospital. It was easy—he'd just transformed into a random injured patient, claimed a bed, and nobody suspected a thing.
Lately, the Kirigakure ANBU had been ramping up their search for him, but they still didn't dare make it public. They were afraid of sparking unnecessary panic.
Hiccup—
After a leisurely stroll, he returned to the hospital and resumed his "job" as a janitor.
As he mopped the floors, the scent of disinfectant clung to his uniform, but underneath it… was still the distinct smell of fishballs.
Bang!
A figure slammed into him from behind, knocking him to the ground.
"Ow! That hurt!"
"Aah! I'm so sorry, sir—are you alright?" a flustered nurse babbled, rushing to help him up.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," Kiyosuke replied, brushing himself off.
He picked up the scattered medical files on the floor and handed them back. But as his eyes caught one of the patient charts, he squinted.
"Jinpachi Munashi... That guy's injured too?"
So, one slipped through the net, huh?
If that guy hadn't run for it last time, the Seven Ninja Swordsmen would've been wiped out. And now, this survivor had ended up in the hospital? What luck.
He quickly memorized the information on the chart before casually handing it back with a smile.
"Careful next time. You can't just barrel through hospital corridors like that."
"Sorry! Really sorry! I've got other patients waiting—I'll treat you to a meal next time!" the nurse called over her shoulder, rushing off with the files clutched in her arms.
Kiyosuke didn't dwell on it. He picked up his bucket and mop and headed back to the supply room.
With nobody noticing, he slipped into the women's restroom.
Moments later, a curvy, full-figured nurse stepped out.
"Ugh, my shoulders are killing me. Should've dialed it back a little..."
She stretched her back. This look and figure? It was the spitting image of the most popular nurse at the Konoha hospital.
She made her way to the dispensary, where the head nurses were bustling about. One of the older nurses caught sight of her.
"Hey you, take this to Miss Terumi's room. It's her medicine for the day."
"…"
"Yes, ma'am."
She accepted the medicine and left in a hurry.
Along the way, her shapely silhouette turned more than a few heads among the injured Kirigakure shinobi.
"Aaagh! My stitches just popped!" one of them yelped.
"Wait—wasn't that area already stitched?"
"Exactly! And now the stitches are undone! Go get a doctor!"
A scene of chaos erupted behind her.
Without missing a beat, she made her way to Mei Terumi's room.
Seriously, what am I doing here again?
She composed herself and knocked before stepping in.
"Excuse me, Miss Terumi. I've brought your medication."
"Thank you. You two can go—I need to change my dressing."
"Yes, Lady Mei."
There were still two people in the room—Mei's old teammates.
Taketori from the Kaguya clan was wrapped in bandages, while Genzuki of the Hōzuki clan seemed mostly uninjured, though he looked pale and had dark circles under his eyes.
They'd both been hurt during a previous mission—not as badly as Mei, but enough to have kept them busy. This was the first chance they had to drop in on her.
Kiyosuke was pleasantly surprised to see Genzuki—he was one of his mission targets—but kept his expression perfectly neutral.
Genzuki and Taketori each gave him a brief glance and then left.
Huh?
Kiyosuke was puzzled. His nurse transformation was tailor-made to trigger all kinds of hidden fetishes—and these two barely even looked at him?
Wait a minute... are my "assets" just two hot water bottles shoved under my shirt?
He placed the medicine by the bedside and turned to leave, but Mei called out.
"Where are you going? I can't change the dressing on my back by myself."
B-Back?
He froze slightly, forcing a gentle smile.
"Sorry, Miss Terumi. I'm new here, and the head nurse was too busy, so she sent me instead. I should've been more considerate. May I ask where you're injured?"
Mei didn't think much of it and smiled softly. "No worries. It's my back. I'd appreciate the help."
"Your back, got it."
What now? I'm so nervous...
Mei smiled again, then turned around and slipped off her hospital gown. Her smooth, fair shoulders and slender arms were exposed, though the rest was wrapped in thick bandages.
"Thanks for the help."
As she unwrapped the bandages, Kiyosuke, who'd still been caught up in some less-than-pure thoughts, was instantly sobered by the sight of the wound on her back.
It was gruesome—deep enough to show bone. Just a bit more and it would've damaged her spine.
Whoever injured her had to be one of Konoha's top shinobi.
Mei let out a bitter chuckle. "Those elite jōnin from Konoha are something else. My team ran into them. We managed to kill them in the end, but not without taking heavy casualties. I was the worst off. Will this scar?"
Of course she'd worry about that.
Kiyosuke replied gently, "If it's not treated properly, it could leave a scar. But don't worry—just trust the doctors."
"Alright, I'll leave it to you."
She lay down on her stomach, exposing her back. At this angle, she was completely vulnerable—if Kiyosuke attacked her now, she wouldn't stand a chance.
But he let the thought pass.
She'd saved his life once. He wasn't the type to take advantage of someone at their weakest.
He took a cotton swab, dipped it in the medication, and began cleaning the wound. Mei flinched, cold sweat beading on her forehead.
"It's okay," he murmured. "You're doing great. Just hang in there—it'll be over soon."
He worked quickly, applying the medicine and preparing the bandages...
Wait—
Bandaging her?
He froze.
This was tricky.
No—get a grip. Right now, I'm a woman. A female nurse bandaging another woman. Nothing weird about that.
Besides, there's nothing to see. Totally average.
With that mindset, his heart settled into a calm state.
Yes… a flat chest won't tempt me!
To think that the future great kunoichi, Terumi Mei, was once just another flat-chested girl...
The growth of a human being really is terrifying.
He fumbled a bit but managed to get the bandages wrapped properly.
As she pulled her gown back on, Mei smiled at him.
"Thanks a lot. What should I call you?"
"Oh... uh... just call me Seiko."
"Alright. Thank you, Seiko."
"It's nothing. Helping patients is a nurse's duty," he replied with a smile, gathering up the blood-stained gauze and preparing to leave.
There was a knock at the door.
"Come in."
"Sorry to intrude."
A young man stepped into the room—early twenties, with spiky blue hair that shot upward, two paper talismans hanging like earrings, and an eyepatch covering his right eye.
Mei's face lit up.
"Ao! What brings you here?"
Ao smiled. "I heard you got hurt. Things have been busy, but I wanted to come check on you."
