The sanctuary was larger than the safe zone, way larger.
The valley sprawled for miles in every direction, dotted with buildings that ranged from hastily constructed wooden structures to what appeared to be actual stone fortifications that must have been erected by system magic because there was no way humans could have built them in less than a week. Thousands of people moved through the streets, a chaotic mix of refugees and NPCs blending together in what looked like a surprisingly functional society against all odds.
The wards created a massive dome overhead, visible as a faint shimmer when Nox looked up, like heat waves distorting the air. Through it the sky was visible but slightly warped, like looking through water. Safe. Protected. The bounty hunters couldn't cross that barrier.
