Three months had passed.
In the world of Jujutsu Sorcerers, chaos was the standard—but strangely, things had been… quiet. There were missions, sure. Low to mid-grade curses showing up, the usual hauntings and anomalies. But nothing earth-shattering. No Special Grade threats. No ancient evils rising. It was like the world was holding its breath.
Riku Yamadera had spent those months training, adapting, refining.
But the real surprise was Akari.
What had started as a fluke awakening had turned into something undeniable. Her cursed energy control? Near flawless. Her flow, her instincts, her adaptability—they were all progressing at a rate that turned heads. If anyone had seen her fight now, they'd assume she'd been doing this for years, not three months. She still didn't have a cursed technique, but it was clear something powerful was building. It shimmered in the edges of her aura, waiting to take form.
She trained daily. Sparred with Riku. Meditated. Studied. Pushed herself like a veteran soldier preparing for war.
And she did it all while still being herself—Akari Shikimori, bold and beautiful, soft around the edges but sharp where it counted. She hadn't become someone else. She just became more.
The sun was still barely up.
Riku lay back against the headboard of their bed, shirtless, the sheets tangled around his legs. His eyes were half-lidded, gaze flicking between the city skyline and the girl beside him—curled up, breathing slow, hair messy from sleep.
She mumbled something and rolled over, her arm draping lazily across his stomach.
He smiled faintly.
Three months ago, this life would've sounded like a fantasy.
And then—
DING.
A familiar sound echoed in his mind.
His body stiffened. For a moment, he thought he imagined it.
Then he saw it.
[Upgrade complete.]
[The system is back online.]
He almost shouted.
Almost.
But Akari was still asleep, her cheek pressed to his side.
He covered his mouth, eyes wide, and sat up slowly—easing her arm off him like he was defusing a bomb. She grumbled something incoherent but didn't wake. Riku swung his legs over the side of the bed, stood, and quietly made his way to the living room.
The moment he sat on the couch, the system continued.
[One Draw Available.]
[Would you like to proceed with your random Multiversal Gacha Pull?]
His grin stretched across his face. It had been so long since he'd seen that interface, heard that voice. The silence had been maddening.
He cracked his knuckles.
"Yeah," he whispered. "Let's roll."
A glowing wheel appeared in front of him—dozens of icons, powers, names flashing by faster than he could register. The wheel spun with a burst of golden light, faster and faster, until—
DING.
[Congratulations. You have obtained: The Skill — World Ruler.]
Everything stopped.
Riku blinked.
"…Wait. What?"
Text scrolled in front of him. The description alone was ridiculous.
World Ruler: A transcendent skill granting the user control over universal and existential laws within their immediate vicinity. Enables the manipulation of gravity, causality, fate threads, and absolute resistance to conceptual interference. The user may designate "rules" to govern battlefields, territory, or individuals.
Warning: Skill is currently sealed at 5% compatibility. Full integration requires further evolution of the host.
He leaned back on the couch, hands over his face.
"…Holy shit."
This wasn't a skill. It was an absurdity.
Even at 5%, the applications were already insane. Gravity manipulation? Causality edits? Battlefield rules?
The system chimed again.
[Note: This version is adapted for balance within the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. Compatibility will scale over time.]
He exhaled. "Yeah, that makes sense… don't want to accidentally break the whole damn world."
Still.
World Ruler.
He pulled up the system tab, scrolled through his current inventory and abilities. It was back. Everything was back.
His progress.
His options.
His edge.
The quiet months were over.
Footsteps padded across the wooden floor.
He turned—and there she was. Akari, hair wild, still in her sleep shirt that barely reached her thighs, rubbing her eyes with one hand.
"…Why are you glowing?" she asked.
He blinked.
"…Am I?"
"You look like a laptop screen on max brightness."
He chuckled. "Just… working on something."
She yawned, walked over, and dropped next to him on the couch, curling up at his side. "That better not be some weird stock thing again."
"It's not. I promise."
She leaned her head against him. "Good. 'Cause I've got a day off. And I'm stealing your time."
He smiled.
"Take all you want."
Because now, the system was back.
And Riku Yamadera wasn't just strong anymore.
He was on the edge of something far greater.
And with Akari by his side, he wasn't holding back.
...
I hope I didn't mess anything up for the system coming back BUT if I did please tell me NICELY so I can come back and fix it. Thanks guys for your support also comment below a world we are going to next or Universe.
