Chapter 17 - Burning Bridges, Building Thrones

The night was thick with tension as Valentina stepped into the sleek boardroom of one of Alejandro's newly acquired businesses—a front for money laundering and cartel logistics. The city lights outside blurred, but inside, everything was razor-sharp, calculated.

Mateo stood beside her, eyes scanning security feeds, his usual grim calm in place.

"We hit El Muerto's operation tonight," Valentina said, voice low but fierce. "No warnings. No mercy. We take the territory, the shipments, everything."

Mateo nodded. "El Muerto's men are loyal, but they don't know what's coming. Your move will send shockwaves."

The First Strike

Hours later, under the cloak of darkness, Valentina's crew—handpicked from the streets and trained by Mateo—moved with surgical precision.

The target was a heavily guarded warehouse on the outskirts of Sinaloa. Inside, shipments of cocaine ready for export awaited.

Valentina watched from a rooftop across the street, her heart a mix of cold resolve and burning fire.

She whispered to herself, This is just the beginning.

Explosions ripped through the night. Vehicles were torched, guards taken down silently but efficiently. In minutes, the cartel's nerve center in that zone was crippled.

A Message Written in Fire

At the center of the wreckage, Valentina had her signature waiting: a small vial of golden poison spilled over a cartel emblem spray-painted on the warehouse wall—a symbol that La Reina Escarlata had claimed this territory.

Her phone buzzed. Lucia's voice was tight.

"They're scrambling. Xavier's men don't know who's behind it yet."

Valentina smiled, biting her lip. "Let them wonder."

Power Plays in Polanco

Back in Mexico City's elite circles, Xavier sat in his darkened mansion, the chaos reports streaming in.

"Who dared?" he growled into the phone.

"A new player, sir," his lieutenant replied. "They're calling her the Scarlet Queen."

Xavier's eyes narrowed. "Find her. And burn her before she burns us all."

A Dangerous Alliance

Meanwhile, Diego watched the fallout from the DEA safe house, the news streaming live.

His thoughts tangled between duty and desire. Valentina was more than a target now—she was a force of nature.

He rubbed his temples. If I'm going to catch her, I need to get closer. But closer could mean losing everything.

Back to the Shadows

Valentina met with Lucia later that night in a dimly lit café, the hum of the city around them.

"Your signature is making waves," Lucia said, eyes gleaming.

Valentina shrugged. "They'll learn quickly. This empire isn't built on fear alone—it's built on respect. And fear follows."

Lucia leaned in, voice soft but deadly serious. "Watch your back, Reina. Alejandro's watching too… and not all his intentions are pure."

Valentina's jaw clenched. "I know. But I play my own game."

End Scene – The Chessboard Expands

Valentina stood by the window, city lights reflecting in her eyes. The game was on. Each move burned a bridge, but every bridge burned paved the way to a throne.

She touched the pendant at her neck and whispered,

"This kingdom will be mine. Blood, poison, and fire."
