Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: In Search of Him

The guy introduced them to his professor and explained their situation. The professor was a man in his mid-forties; he looked amicable and kind. He seemed a bit saddened upon hearing Nikhil's name. He told them that Nikhil Shrivastav was a really nice student—good in his studies and with a great personality too. But he had disappeared a year ago. They had even tried to contact him but couldn't.

Luna and Anya told him about the purpose of their visit. They asked if he could provide Nikhil's home address—maybe they would be able to find him that way.

At first, the professor was reluctant to give out his information, but later, seeing how genuinely concerned they were, he decided to share it with them.

Although Luna looked seemingly alright on the outside, inside she was going through an emotional turmoil. She was confused and deeply worried. She didn't know Nikhil that well, but she clearly thought of him as a good person—and that was now confirmed by both his professor and his classmate's words. But what she couldn't understand was why he disappeared and why almost no one had any idea about him, not even his classmates.

She was afraid. If he really had disappeared, would she ever see him again?

Still, she held on to a little hope—maybe they could find him at his home. Or at the very least, his family might know where he is.

Luna and Anya thanked the professor and Nikhil's former classmate, then left the college. They sat in their car. After a moment of silence, Luna spoke,

"How about we go to his place today? We still have a lot of time on our hands."

Anya could sense the urgency in her tone. She knew Luna was concerned and wanted to find Nikhil as soon as possible.

"That's a great idea," Anya replied. "Rather than coming again tomorrow, it's better we go today."

They handed the address to the driver and asked him to take them there. The driver informed them that the place was quite far from the college—it would take about an hour to reach. With that, he started the car.
