Chapter 77: Future Plans

After several rounds of lovemaking, both Huong Tra and Huy were completely exhausted. She didn't feel like returning to her room, so she stayed the night, planning to wake up early and go back in the morning. It was Huy's birthday today, and she wanted to mark it with a special memory.

As the year was coming to an end, the weather had turned cold. Lying next to Huy, wrapped in a warm "37-degree" blanket, she felt cozy and content.

Huong Tra wrapped her arms around Huy, snuggled her head into his chest like a little kitten.

In the quiet of the night, the only sounds were the gentle rhythm of their breathing and the steady beat of a heart.

Just as she was about to drift off, she heard Huy's voice:

"I'm tired of working for someone else. I want to start my own business. I want to buy a house and marry you."

Huong Tra was slightly surprised hearing Huy mention marriage. She was still a third-year university student, with more than a year left before graduation. Besides, they had only been dating for a few months.

But even before entering this relationship, she had already thought that the person she would marry might be Huy. She had always seen something special in him.

She lifted her head slightly and teased:

"Marry me? Have you thought it through?"

Huy heard the teasing and tightened his arms around her:

"I'm not some playboy. We've known each other for years—it's not like we just met. We just got together a bit late, that's all."

Huong Tra snuggled into his chest again, a subtle gesture to show she didn't oppose the idea. She then asked curiously:

"Aren't you planning to return to Đà Nẵng?"

"No. I'm a grown man now; I don't want to rely on my parents. Besides, I've never really gotten along with them. Whatever I do, they try to stop me. So I want to build something here, on my own."

Truth be told, Tra didn't want to go back to faraway Đà Nẵng either. If Huy planned to settle in Hanoi, buy a house, and start a business, it would be perfect.

She had also been lucky with her online business—blessed by the "sales gods"—and her savings account had grown significantly.

If Huy wanted to launch a startup, she could support him.

"I've saved up a bit of money too. I hope I can help," she said.

Huy leaned down, kissed her hair, and replied:

"Let me handle the capital myself. I'm telling you this because I want you to know that my future plans include you—not because I expect your help."

Since Huy didn't want her financial help, Tra didn't push the issue. But deep down, she became more curious about his family.

Still, it was late, and Huy needed to rest for work the next day, and she had classes as well.

She closed her eyes and began to breathe steadily. In the soft silence, her voice floated gently like a breeze:

"Family is still blood. No matter how incompatible, we can never truly sever ties. I think, as children, we shouldn't hold on to grudges."

With those words, Tra drifted into a peaceful sleep.
