Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 – Shadows of Betrayal

📜 Previously on Reincarnated Prince of Kaligarh:

Aryan had enjoyed a rare moment of peace at sea with the girls and his tiger cubs, celebrating the alliance with Namira. Laughter, food, and the gentle sea breeze made him feel for the first time in months that life could be calm—even if only for a night.

The morning sun barely touched the horizon when Aryan entered the war room, Veer padding quietly behind him. Maps of Kaligarh and surrounding territories were spread across the table, and his generals waited silently.

GENERAL RUDRA

Reports, Your Majesty. Anything unusual?

ARYAN (narrowing his eyes)

Chatura. He's planning a strike. He thinks I'll be distracted with the sea survey.

A hushed murmur ran through the room.

GENERAL BHASKAR

He intends to attack when we're off-guard?

ARYAN (leaning forward, voice calm but sharp)

Exactly. But we're not off-guard. His men are predictable. He underestimates discipline and intelligence.

Aryan gestured toward the map. Lines traced villages, roads, and likely ambush points.

ARYAN

We'll do this in three steps. First, Chatura's scouts will arrive—exactly where we expect them. We let them think they're unseen. Second, our spy network feeds false intelligence to lure him into the valley near Neruva Pass. Third… we trap him.

RUDRA (grinning)

And when he realizes?

ARYAN

He won't. Not until his cavalry is surrounded. Then, every escape route is blocked. Wolf Riders on flanks, infantry ready to cut off retreat. He'll have no chance to recover.

SALAK (leaning in, whispering)

Sounds like a storm hitting him squarely. Brutal, but effective.

ARYAN

Brutal is necessary. But calculated. No mistakes.

Later that day, scouts reported movement exactly as Aryan predicted. Chatura's men advanced confidently, unaware that Aryan's soldiers had been lying in wait.

Aryan watched from a hilltop with a spy perched nearby reporting every detail. As Chatura's forces entered the valley, Wolf Riders emerged from hidden positions, flanking the enemy. Archers rained down precise volleys, forcing the enemy into confusion.

ARYAN (quietly, to himself)

You thought I wouldn't notice…

Chatura's strategy was clever but expected. By midday, his forces were contained. His cavalry tried to charge, but Wolf Riders intercepted them. The valley erupted in chaos—swords clashing, horses screaming, and soldiers shouting orders.

ARYAN (smiling grimly)

Predictable.

By nightfall, Chatura's army had been routed. Surviving men fled, and Aryan's forces held the field without a single major loss.

ARYAN (to Rudra)

Send scouts. Make sure he doesn't regroup. And prepare the valley as a warning—next time, he'll know exactly what happens when he underestimates Kaligarh.

Veer growled softly at Aryan's side, Sena rubbing against his leg as if sharing in the triumph. Aryan allowed himself a small, satisfied smile.
