Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: “Tea, Thrones, and Territory”

📜 Previously on Reincarnated Prince of Kaligarh

After a string of conquests, Aryan finally took a day off—with fishing, flirting, and laughter in a hidden garden with Kaamaya, Meena, and Reva. But peace never lasts for long. With Sumatra now under Kaligarh's banner, it's time to plan its future.

SCENE 1 – ROYAL COURTYARD – MORNING

Morning sunlight filtered through carved marble screens. Aryan sat on a shaded terrace, sipping warm, spiced tea with his mother, Rani Devika.

DEVIKA (playfully)

You were out all day yesterday. Enjoyed your time with the girls?

ARYAN (raising an eyebrow)

I was fishing.

DEVIKA

Yes, and you caught… three different types of trouble.

Aryan coughed into his cup. The tiger cubs, Veer and Sena, lounged nearby like lazy guards, yawning.

SCENE 2 – THRONE ROOM OF KALIGARH

The throne room sparkled with banners and the scent of fresh flowers. Aryan sat on the high seat—not with a crown, but with calm authority. Before him stood newly selected governors, merchants, and noble sons from Kaligarh and recently reclaimed Sumatra.

ARYAN (speaking clearly)

Sumatra is no longer a borderland. It is part of our heart. But it needs roads, trade, and trust.

He pointed at a large map behind him.

ARYAN

Lord Aban: you will oversee the villages. Build wells, granaries, and new schools.

LORD ABAN (bowing)

By your will, Your Majesty.

ARYAN

Lady Tara: reopen the copper mines. We'll fund craftsmen in return for tools and coin.

LADY TARA

Already drawing up contracts, Sire.

ARYAN

General Rudra: keep ten percent of our wolf riders in Sumatra. Train locals for militia duty. No lord rules through fear—not in Kaligarh.

SCENE 3 – STRATEGY WITH FLAVOR

Back in the council room, Aryan unrolled parchment plans. The vibe was more casual here.

ARYAN

Alright, here's the plan: each Sumatra village gets two things first—a clinic and a carpenter. People don't rebel when their roofs don't leak and their children don't cough.

REVA (scribbling notes)

Did you just invent "Healthcare and Hammers" policy?

KAAMAYA

Sounds like a good name for a tax reform plan.

ARYAN

Sounds like I need more tea.

SCENE 4 – SECRETARY CHAOS

Ranvi ran into the room, holding a stack of scrolls. He tripped on the tiger tail (again) and the papers exploded into the air.

RANVI (on the floor)

I bring… ow… monthly grain reports… and… mild head trauma.

ARYAN (smiling)

Add "train Ranvi to walk properly" to the agenda.

Everyone laughed. Even Veer let out a little growl that sounded suspiciously like a chuckle.

SCENE 5 – THE FUTURE GAZE

Later that evening, Aryan stood in the palace garden overlooking the city. Sumatra was now officially Kaligarh's. It had been too easy—but Aryan knew better. Easy victories hid deeper problems.

ARYAN (to himself)

Now we grow smarter. Not just stronger.

Devika joined him, resting a hand on his shoulder.

DEVIKA

You've done well, my son.

ARYAN

One piece at a time. We're not rebuilding a kingdom… we're building something better.
