AUDIO LOG TRANSCRIPT – LOG 20
DATE: ██/██/████
LOCATION: Site-███, Private Observation Room
INTERVIEWER: Dr. Quinn
SUBJECT: SCP-NULL
SUMMARY: Observation of continued non-hostile, physically affectionate behavior from SCP-1471 toward SCP-NULL. Subject shows no objection or notable response to changes.
BEGIN AUDIO TRANSCRIPT
Dr. Quinn: I wanted to check in regarding SCP-1471 again. Her behavior's changed—gradually, but noticeably.
NULL: [quiet hum] Yeah. She's more comfortable now.
Dr. Quinn: More than just comfortable. She's… physically close. I've reviewed the last week's cell logs. She's started lying in your lap when you sit on the couch. She rests her head on your shoulder. Sleeps on your bed when you're working at your desk. Constant contact.
NULL: [calmly] She's warm. I don't mind.
Dr. Quinn: That's not the concern. We haven't seen her behave this way with anyone before—not even during her uncontrolled phases and not in containment.
NULL: Maybe she needed someone she didn't have to haunt.
Dr. Quinn: [pauses] That's one way to phrase it.
FILE ADDENDUM 20-A: OBSERVATION NOTES
SCP-1471 now maintains physical proximity during nearly all of NULL's daily routines.
Behaviors include reclining against NULL during seated activity, curling beside him during rest, and following him in silence between scheduled interviews.
No signs of agitation, jealousy, or threat response when personnel or other SCPs interact with NULL.
RECORDED INCIDENT – DAY ██
During evening review hour, NULL sat reading at the edge of his assigned bunk. SCP-1471 entered the room without audible alert and lay across his lap, curling her arms loosely around his waist. Subject (NULL) adjusted slightly to accommodate her position, resumed reading without comment. No security intervention required.
Dr. Quinn (continued): Security's still watching, of course. But we haven't flagged any hostile body language. Honestly, she acts… safe. Like she doesn't want to leave your side.
NULL: She doesn't talk, but she's always there. That says more than most words.
Dr. Quinn: It doesn't bother you?
NULL: [simple tone] No. She's not hurting anyone. If anything, she's helping me focus. Keeps the room warm.
FILE ADDENDUM 20-B: PERSONNEL NOTES
"The most surprising thing about 1471's change in behavior isn't the affection. It's the lack of incident. She's present, but not predatory. Protective, not possessive. It's like her core compulsion's… been reprogrammed. Just by being near him."– Agent D. Harker, Site Watch Analyst
"We have a D-Class-turned-anomaly cuddling with a walking digital haunting, and neither of them have triggered a single security breach in 47 days. That's statistically impossible. And yet, here we are."– Dr. Quinn, private note
Dr. Quinn (continued): We'll continue monitoring the contact, but so far—nothing to indicate she's manipulating you. Or that you're influencing her in return. It's just… closeness.
NULL: That's how I'd describe it too. Closeness.
SITE DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY:
"Affection from an anomaly isn't inherently dangerous. But it is unusual. SCP-1471's change remains classified under Controlled Attachment Phenomenon. Further observation required."
