Jiang Yanxi did not like the boys in their circle and Zhou Kai was on top of that list. He was cold, arrogant and a troublemaker. Not only did he usually come late disrupting the class during their lesson, he also fought and smoked.
Yet, he still somehow managed to maintain his grades beside Pres. He and Pres would always come first in their grade. But she did not believe that his results were genuine after all he was the heir to the Zhou Conglomerate.
The Zhou Conglomerate was a giant which had penetrated into every profitable industry in the country. Their products could be seen in an average household and were also bought worldwide. Not only that, they were an old brand trusted for their quality and known for their charitable deeds.
As the sole heir to such a behemoth, she had heard a lot about Zhou Kai and none of the things she heard were good.
Before meeting him, she had thought that a lot of the bad things were just exaggerated rumours but after meeting him, she understood that all things being said must have been true.
Moreover, he also regularly bothers Pres either because of his tardiness, fights and/or smoking. Pres had clearly very gently explained to him and his minions, the consequences of his behaviour still he didn't stop.
Does he not know that Pres was already so busy with the work on and off school?
There's no way he doesn't know! He's just deliberately making problems for Pres!
He probably looks down on Pres and thinks that Pres isn't worthy of standing at the top with his mediocre background.
He probably can't bear to share the same top position with him!
He even mocks Pres by making it seem like he's listening attentively but then goes and does the thing that Pres explicitly told him not to.
Not to mention the "gifts" he gives to the Pres!
All of them are some shade of violet and are cutesy/girlish. Pres always accepts them out of politeness. He probably didn't even think that this was a way of mocking!
"You shouldn't worry about him Pres!! He clearly looks down on you!! You should avoid him and let him look like the idiot he is!!" Jiang Yanxi shouted with gritted teeth.
This unexpected heartfelt shout startled Xie Yang making him flinch back. All the others in the class were equally shocked by the shout now looking in their direction for some sort of follow up reaction.
Xie Yang looked at the now angry Jiang Yanxi who was huffing and puffing, filled with genuine emotions and was confused for a second at her sudden change of mood when he remembered of Kai's infamy.
Just then Zhou Kai entered the classroom with his group out of the blue. It was obviously very unusual for them to be here before the bell for the first class began. Their entrance in the class just made the already quite atmosphere tense.
The once noisy class immediately turned so quite that one could hear a pin drop.
"Pffft! Hahahahaha!!"
Just then Xie Yang's melodious laughter echoed through out the quite room effortlessly breaking the tension and easing the atmosphere.
Zhou Kai had long been standing at the entrance of the classroom eavesdropping on his sweetheart's conversation.
He had also heard his beloved ask for him which delighted him but his happy mood was soon dampened by the reply of that annoying girl, that last bit especially infuriated him.
He wasn't that bad. She was clearly feeding his sweetheart bad ideas. She even startled him making him flinch away.
In his anger, Zhou Kai entered the class ready to confront her only to be met with the sweet laughter of Xie Yang.
His attention immediately shifted from the unnamed girl to the angel who had fallen from the heavens into the mortal world. It was impossible for him to be a human. He was clearly a siren. Just a laugh was enough to enchant the foolish humans and steal their souls.
Xie Yang still continued to laugh with one hand over his stomach and one hand covering his mouth, his straight back bent forward while trembling slightly as if he was about to keel over from laughter.
He kept trying to hold himself back but then he would think about the way his awkward husband tried to get his attention and his laughter would slip out again.
Where was the cold and indifferent Chairman of the future? This was clearly a stupid teenage boy trying to get his sweetheart's attention by doing stupid things.
This train of thought immediately helped him gain composure when he remembered the price they had to pay for the stupid things he did.
Sigh.....
Everyone could see Pres finally compose himself and let out a desolate sigh. They all believed that he was laughing because he thought that the idea of him just not bothering with Zhou Kai was amusing after all it was his duty as the student council president to guide and help students and the sighing was because he really was troubled by their behaviour.
Zhou Kai's joyful mood immediately fell through.
'So what if it's troublesome for him? This is the only way I can get his attention.' Zhou Kai thought with an icy gaze as he stared at the now composed Xie Yang.
Xie Yang also happened to glance his way and they made eye contact. For a second, both of them were stunned.
The icy look in Zhou Kai's eyes changed to that of a guilty child trying to avoid his parents eyes after doing something bad. Similarly, the gloomy look in Xie Yang's eyes changed to one of pleasant surprise.
He tried to call out to Kai but the class bell signalling the start of the first period rang successfully foiling his attempt.
'Tch! what a cliche timing.'
