Chapter 6 - City Defense Arrest Squad

At this moment, Vale and Victoria had begun a cautious assault on the 5-level wolf cubs.

Vale slowly approached the wolf king, then suddenly cast a poison spell.

The poison drew the attention of the wolf king's cubs, and within seconds, five or six young wolves turned their aggression toward Vale.

Vale's movement speed had reached 20m/s—just fast enough to outpace the cubs.

After a brief chase, the young wolves collapsed. Enraged, the wolf king tried to lock onto Vale, but the moment she attempted to target him, Vale vanished into stealth.

Vale's stealth skill activated, and she disappeared from the wolf king's sight. The wolf king howled in frustration, his massive paws slamming the ground as he searched for her.

Victoria, watching from a safe distance, whispered, "He can't see you, right?"

Vale's voice echoed through the forest. "Not yet. But he'll find me soon. We need to end this quickly."

The wolf king's eyes narrowed, and he let out a guttural growl. The ground trembled as he charged toward the last known location of Vale's movement.

The wolf cub fell to the ground, and both Vale and Victoria simultaneously leveled up to level six.

At this moment, a blue fine steel sword dropped beside the wolf king.

"Is that a weapon for a level-ten swordsman?" Lora, who was hiding in the grass, exclaimed with excitement as her eyes lit up.

The player Leo, who are in the green short robe , also had a gleam in his eyes. "That's a weapon worth 500 Chaotic Coins! In conversion, it's 500 US dollars.

It's extremely difficult to obtain in the early stages. Lora, let's go and snatch it. We can split the money from selling it fifty-fifty."

Although Lora was tempted, she also knew that trying to snatch this weapon was no easy feat.

Not to mention that it was around the wolf king, even without the presence of the wolf king boss, she couldn't afford to offend two level-six players.

"Calm down. We're only at level two. How could we possibly defeat two level-six players? And do you really think they're weak? Think about it. "

"We were all transported into this game world at roughly the same time. In just an hour or two, they've already reached level six. "

"If they're not top-notch gamers, then they might very well be administrators or high-ranking officials within the game. In either case, we can't afford to mess with them."

Leo hesitated for a moment after hearing this, but soon his eyes regained that longing for high-level equipment and money.

"Lora, you're right, but in this world, wealth and honor come from taking risks. Besides, have you forgotten that our survival in this world depends on Chaotic Coins? Without enough of them, "

"we can't exchange for survival supplies, and we can't survive. I don't want to die yet—I still want to return to the real world and see my daughter."

With that, Leo rushed forward. Lora tried to stop him but could only sigh as she watched his back charging toward the wolf king.

Seeing Leo rushing toward the Wolf King, Victoria asked anxiously, "Brother, what should we do?"

Vale shook his head, the corner of his mouth curving into a faint smile as he replied,

"Don't worry. We won't lose our loot. Actually, we should thank him—if he hadn't stepped in, picking up that sword would've been risky. After all, it's a Level 10 Wolf King boss. One hit from it would kill us instantly."

Soon Leo reached the Wolf King, stretched out his hand, and grabbed the weapon. At that moment, the Wolf King's aggro was instantly drawn to him.

Shortly after Leo picked up the weapon, a massive shadow charged toward him at breakneck speed.

Driven by instinctive fear, Leo bolted in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, as he hadn't invested in agility stats, his movement speed was a pitiful 10 meters per second.

The Wolf King pounced on him in an instant, tearing him to shreds. The sword then rolled to a spot about fifty meters from Lora.

As Leo's injury meter hit 100%, he reached out toward Lora, trying to speak—but no sound escaped his lips. His body shattered like broken glass, crumbling into a pile of ash.

Lora's lips trembled. This was the first time she'd witnessed a human being torn apart, intestines spilling out.

"It's all real… too real," she whispered hoarsely. "How did this happen? We were just eating and laughing in the real world a few hours ago. Now we're like cockroaches hiding in the shadows, waiting for hunters to come and slaughter us."

Her eyes filled with bloodshot rage, a primal fury burning in her irises.

Vale saw the weapon right in front of him and immediately ordered Victoria: "Stay here, don't go anywhere. Remember, we're too weak right now. If the Wolf King finds us, it's all over."

Victoria's heart tightened upon hearing this, and she quickly nodded: "Brother, I'll do as you say." Vale nodded, and in a state of invisibility, he quickly moved toward Leo's body fragments.

"Unless I had to disable my invisibility to pick up the equipment, "

"I really wouldn't want to take this risk. But now the weapon is right in front of me. Although my movement speed is 20m/s, "

"it's still way too slow compared to the Wolf King's 50m/s. It looks like I have to grab it and immediately go back into invisibility again." Cold sweat began to form on Vale's forehead.

After all, he was only 20 meters away from the Wolf King—meaning if he was exposed for more than 0.4 seconds, he would be killed instantly.

"Remember, in the game, death means real death." Vale took a calm breath, remembering Leo's fate as a warning.

"Trust my reflexes. I can do it." With that, Vale disabled his invisibility. At the same moment, he was instantly locked on by the Wolf King's killing intent.

"Human, it's you who killed my child! I've memorized your scent. You can't run away!" The Wolf King roared and immediately lunged at Vale.

"Damn!" Vale hadn't expected the Wolf King to be so fast.

Just as the wolf's claws were about to tear through his chest, a flash of red light appeared, and two huge fireballs simultaneously crashed into the Wolf King's head from two directions.

Lora and Victoria exchanged a glance. In that 0.01-second gap, Vale quickly re-entered his concealment state.

At the same time, the Wolf King's hostility shifted to Victoria and Lora. "You damned humans, you all deserve to die!"

the Wolf King roared and immediately lunged at Lora. "No good!" Vale shouted, quickly creating a 50-meter distance before instantly casting Bone-Eroding Curse.

Soon, the Wolf King was cursed. Seeing that she had been cursed, the Wolf King let out another furious roar, then stopped her attack and immediately used her self-healing ability.

Under the effect of the holy aura, the curse didn't disappear—it instead intensified like oil on fire.

The Wolf King's eyes narrowed, her expression filled with shock as she stared at Vale.

"Who are you? Why do you have the power of that person?" Vale hadn't expected the Wolf King to be speaking to him.

Just as he was about to say something, a series of footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the forest.

A middle-aged man, wearing a flat cap, with a thick beard, a bald head, and holding a long sword, casually chewed on a cigarette as he was quickly escorted into the Wolf King's territory by a group of city guards. When Lora saw the man, her heart nearly jumped to her throat.

The man before her was none other than Deputy Commander Lobin of the City Defense Force.

"Who would have thought there was a Wolf King here? You guys are really lucky. Oh, look at that—this Wolf King still has 10% health left before dying. This is a real windfall for us!"

Vale saw the man and his eyes narrowed. He immediately ran into the bushes. Since he was still invisible, Lobin didn't notice him, but instead turned his attention to Lora.

"Hmph, you little bitch, how dare you run off to level up? You really are tired of living! Once I take care of this Wolf King boss, I'll come back and settle the score with you!"

With that, Lobin gripped his long sword and began charging. A moment later, a golden shockwave shot out, instantly killing the Wolf King boss.

Countless golden light pillars fell to the ground, dropping a huge amount of rare equipment.

Lobin gave a signal, and all his subordinates quickly rushed forward to collect the loot. Vale, while leading Victoria to escape at high speed, his eyes flashed with cold light:

"The City Defense Force, huh? I'll remember this grudge. Stealing my boss, sending people to kill me—you all just wait!"

At the same time, Lora was hanging naked from a tree, waiting for the nightmare to come.

Lobin showed a hungry and lustful expression, while his subordinates began to untie their belts, preparing to take their pleasure.
