Royman looked quite displeased with the situation. It was clear as day for both Legi, and Shurry. Significantly more so for the latter than the former, but still clearly visible.
Following behind Royman was another guild member, one of the more senior ones. He looked as if he was actually glad about what happened as he closed the door behind him, then joined Royman on the couch across from Shurry and Legi.
Royman took in a deep breath, and exhaled. He knew this was not going to be one of those quick and easy discussions, plus he had a personal issue with the downfall of Ishtar familia, as well as a huge reason to express thanks, in short, he was conflicted. His current partner for the meeting was nothing but thankful for what happened, making Royman walk on eggshells… something his plump plus body did not appreciate.
"Alright, Origin Wolf, earlier there was a pillar of light, and then Ishtar familia members suddenly lost all of their strength. Care to explain?"
"What's there to explain? I killed Ishtar after she'd drawn the last straw."
"We need more reason than that, despite her flaws, she is still a goddess."
"And that matters, why, exactly?" Shurry answered, with a single eyebrow raised. "She's not the first deity I've killed."
"I understand that, but surely you had a good reason."
"What more do I need than she acted against my pack? Even went on about performing a sacrificial ritual to increase her familia's strength. All in a fruitless effort for her band of thirsty amazoness to gain my seed… as is their race's driving force from deep within their cores."
"I still don't understand."
"Oh shut up Royman, what else is there to get? Origin Wolf took out another goddess that sought to harm the innocent and cause damage to Orario." The other senior guild member noted.
"Look at that, seems it is easy to understand afterall." Legi verbally jabbed at Royman. "Or are you upset because you can't go and get it on with any woman you could buy for the night?" She added with a disgusted expression, playing with one of her throwing knives. A habit she developed during the battles with Evilus, to always have a weapon in hand, the fidgeting came from other emotions she couldn't suppress, nor want to.
Royman coughed to clear his throat. "In any case the guild will take possession of Ishtar familia's assets. Later they will be properly handled, though for now the proceeds generated will go directly to the guild…" The death glare he received from Legi was enough to make him sweat, and gulp. "30% of the proceeds will go towards those orphanages you've built around the city."
"That's better." Legi spoke softly, the weapon in her hands was put away, and she started fidgeting with her bracelet instead.
"Good now then, I know what I've asked for in the recent past is quite… substantial… However, I need a timeline for the completion. How many places are on board?" Shurry spoke, changing the topic.
"As of now, it seems like they are still deciding what to do. Tsugunai specifically seems to be refusing a proper response."
"Tell them if they don't accept, I'll just kill them for being worse than completely useless." Shurry sighed. "As for the other places, tell them to hurry it up. We're on a time crunch here. And no matter how strong they think they are, there's no way they are prepared for the fight ahead. If even one of those dragons manages to get by us, it would be more than enough to topple Rakia. Let alone anywhere else."
"You're serious?"
"I am currently roughly equal to the one eyed black dragon, at least as far as I can tell. The reason I'm not going yet, surely you can guess the reason, right?"
"Because there's too many other dragons that could escape your notice even now. Despite your army of wolves?"
"They're strong, but I need them for myself. For now that is. I can not say anymore without revealing too much of my abilities, just know I have my reasons." Shurry said, stretching as he stood up. "Now then, since everything is resolved on my end of things, I'll leave it to you."
Legi stood up and joined Shurry as they left the guild. Making their return to Hathor familia, they talked, low enough so only high leveled adventurers would ever have the chance to hear them.
"That was easy." Legi whispered, scanning her surroundings.
"It would have been harder if you weren't there this time. I thought he was going to give at most 10%, but he gave three times that much."
"Let no one wonder if they'll have another meal. Instead wonder what it'll be instead."
"That's right. Far better than it once was. Though, it isn't like we couldn't afford to keep paying for it."
"This way, it decreases the stigma on selling one's body, right?"
"Yes, I don't personally care if someone does that stuff. So long as it comes around to helping people, maybe it will eventually become a business performed only by those who truly want to do it."
"Instead of those who feel forced into it. Is that right?"
"Yeah, despite my feelings on the matter, I still much prefer to have lovers who share a good relationship with me."
"Do you wish you'd only taken Ardee?"
"I'd be lying no matter how I answer that…" Shurry replied, with a heavy internal sigh. "I am the alpha of my kind, not having a lover of my own kind would have hurt a lot of people, Ardee knew that. It's why she pushed to give Neze a chance, leading to her." He continued. "Then one thing led to another. However, no matter what anyone, anywhere says, or how much I love the four of them… My heart is for Ardee, always. That will never change."
"I see, that must be difficult for you."
"It got a whole lot easier when I saw my four puppies. They're so adorable, I love them more than the world. Though I am a bit jealous of them too, they're going to live during a time where they won't suffer like I did."
"In other words, another of the many reasons you fight to destroy that monster of monsters, the one eyed black dragon."
Shurry responded with a simple smirk.
