Nernatti arrived at the guild, she didn't need to distribute roles to the party due to the experience everyone had. So she simply picked her couple of members for the sit down discussion with their usual guild rep.
Like the last time when Bokhoir had tried, there were four members from the guild… However, unlike the last time, Nernatti was in the position to call over another member to fix the numbers. And, there was another difference…
"Sorry to pull this on your familia a second time. I've already done everything I could to stop her from joining us. But she always threatens to do something that would be far worse for our reputation-"
"So you'd prefer to ruin ours then?" Nernatti interjected, slightly ticked at the suggestion. "I heard what you did to Bokhoir, while there may have been another way around that situation at that time, I won't be apologizing for his actions. He made the right choice. We may not be even close to as powerful as Zeus or Hera familias, but we do have enough sway to make things incredibly difficult."
Royman's fatness was getting the better of him, sweat poured down his face. The presence of an elf with actual strength, and proper upbringing, is not something that he, another elf, likes to deal with.
"I understand, would it be alright to continue with the results then?"
"Of course, this here is the proof of the conquest of the target monster rex, Amphisbaena. We were unable to destroy it with our initial team, and had to retreat and bring down our new mascot. It's largely because of him that we were able to complete the mission."
Royman, sweating, looked at the drop item.
"This is indeed the dragon's liver but… Why does it look like someone took a bite out of it?"
"He was hungry, we barely managed to take it from him before he devoured it. He hung on quite well with those jaws of his."
"He?"
"Yep. I never thought it would be so hard to keep him from eating something. But I guess young werewolves finish the food they chomp down on."
"I… I see…"
The redhead werewolf girl couldn't take it anymore.
"UGH! I wanna see him already! First we went to your familia to see him but he was nowhere! Gone! Every day! Many days! Too long!"
The mother, a little anxious herself, gave a half-hearted chop to her daughter's head.
"Sorry about that, but we came across a few bites of information the other day, and admittedly, I too want to see this boy with my own eyes. To see if the moon truly walks with him." … "It means more than I can put into words."
Nernatti seemed to scan the mother and daughter combo of werewolves. The look in her eyes was clear to anyone… She was acting like a protective big sister, but not overly protective. Not from a fight, but rather from something else… Something dangerous in another way.
"I see… As long as you don't have any ill thoughts, I don't see a problem with coming by to meet him. But, if you really want to be friendly, well, I'm sure you'll be able to figure out how to do that." … "Now then, could I get that mission completion reward? Ganesha familia failed it, which means there's a reward this time, right?"
"What, uh, no… You were the first familia that-"
"Cut the bull, fat elf." Nernatti's eyes turned into pure judgement. "My little brother is the reason the Ganesha familia's team didn't all die that day. He healed their injuries. I swear this to be true on my goddess' name, Goddess Hathor."
Grumbling, Royman begrudgingly nodded, and the reward was brought over soon after.
"Good, now then you can talk about when would be a good time to visit the boy."
The boy in question just so happened to appear at that time. The door flew open, and ran Shurry, carrying a bunch of different harvested items from the trees in the garden. He came in, and sat down right next to Nernatti.
"Big sister, what's taking so long. Mommy says bath time has to wait till you come back." He looked at the other two werewolves, tilted his head, sniffing. "Oh, I know you! You were at that awesome place with good meat! Uh… Uh… The-"
"The Wolves Den! I love that place!"
"Yay! Their meat is amazing! Especially the super raw and bloody ones, oh oh, and the livers… Actually, all of it is really tasty. Before I knew it they were out. I had to go find more food elsewhere."
"So it really was you who ate it all! I didn't get my fill that day because you ate everything!"
"Oh?" Shurry pondered, grabbed a Mruit, and tossed it over. "Sorry, I was really hungry… You can have this for now."
Eyes lighting up from having such a rare fruit, she didn't bother waiting, and devoured it, straight wolfed it down. Then while she was licking her lips, and eyeing the rest of the Mruits…
"Don't think that this makes us even. I was super hungry that day!"
Shurry's ears flicked as he moved to defend the rest of his snack. Rose, still hungry, and now having been taunted, ran for the bowl, chasing Shurry around the room. It was during this time that he ended up using one of his light platforms to sit on, just out of reach.
"Rose, that's enough playing with your new friend. He is indeed exactly what I thought he was…"
Rose's mother smiled, as if a heavy weight had finally been lifted off her shoulders.
"Mother! Wait!? Really?"
Rose began doing a bit of looking back and forth, to her mother, then to a confused Shurry, and back again, this happened a few times before Rose realized it was true.
"Then… The legends were really true! That's… cool…"
She was hiding her feelings from expressing on her face, but the tail… Still far too childish and betrayed her efforts to hide her happiness.
"Alright, I guess that finishes everything we needed to take care of today. Shurry, let's go home now."
"Oh, but can I finish eating the liver? We've already proved I killed the thing. Do I have to share the tastiest part like this? No one's even going to eat it!"
"They might not eat it, but they will not let it go to waste… Though I don't think they'll buy it with a bite out of it-"
"If not, then I'm taking it! It's mine, I hunted it!"
"Shurry if you do that, we'll fail the mission…"
"What?! But?! I'm gonna hunt it again and again! You better ask for something else next time!" Shurry cried, smacking his lips, crying as he had to give up on the dragon liver. "It was the best part of the thing…"
Nernatti, Shurry, and the rest of the Hathor familia left the guild, returning home with a new bag of riches… One that would very quickly be blown through purchasing meat.
