Chapter 96 - Chapter 96 – The Planet Adrion

"Amir, can I take this?" Millicent appeared in the cockpit, looking mostly recovered.

Amir rubbed his head—he couldn't remember when he'd fallen asleep, only that they'd been approaching the navigation lane.

He opened the star chart to pinpoint their location and saw the ship had come to a halt in space.

BD-4 hopped out from the door and proudly chirped. It had noticed Amir had fallen asleep and shut off the ship's thrusters, letting it drift freely in space.

Luckily, he hadn't slept long—just four or five hours. Much better than his usual full-day crash-outs.

Of course, maybe it was just because the cockpit wasn't exactly the most comfortable place to sleep.

Shaking off the grogginess, Amir saw what Millicent was holding: a double-bladed spinning lightsaber. It was the one he'd taken from the Seventh Sister and kept in the ship's workshop.

That was definitely not a toy, little Millicent.

Amir recalled how, when he first used a lightsaber to slice up a battle droid, Millicent had shown obvious desire to wield one herself.

"That's not a toy, Millicent. That's a weapon. Only when you've learned to control your power can you use it safely."

Millicent was even younger than little Jay—maybe eight or nine at most. Still just an Initiate. A weapon like that was too big and far too dangerous for her.

She hadn't yet come to understand her own power, much less command the Force at will. Worse still, the Force within her was aligned strongly to the Dark Side.

"But I want it! I promise I won't do anything dangerous!" Millicent clung to the saber, unwilling to let go.

"Alright, but not this one. I'll help you build your own lightsaber in the future," Amir relented.

"Yay!" Millicent cheered, bouncing up and down before tapping Mona on the shoulder in excitement.

Stretching with a long yawn, Amir made his way back toward the predetermined course.

Among the stolen data, he had discovered several important pieces of intel—tactical opportunities that could fuel a strong counteroffensive.

They finally reached the navigation route. Once all the children were seated and secured, Amir jumped the ship into hyperspace. When they emerged, a vibrant green disc appeared ahead of them.

That was Adrion.

The main hyperspace lanes didn't pass near this planet. Following Ahsoka's guidance, Amir had diverted their final course to reach the planet's vicinity.

After a brief flight, The Traveler approached the planet's outer atmosphere. From a distance, it was just a bright green orb. But as they got closer, the planet's dimensional depth emerged.

Vast plains and towering mountain ranges wove together in shades of green and misty white. The jungles seemed to grow atop the clouds, and the peaks rose high above the earth. The plains had no signs of artificial interference—preserving a raw, untouched wilderness.

As the ship descended, Amir spotted scattered small settlements. Even these had only the most essential machinery; the rest was fully integrated with the environment. Houses and massive trees had been fused into unique architectural designs, shrouded in heavy mist, making the settlements seem like they melted into the green world.

Circling once in the air, Amir instantly fell in love with the place.

He could feel the flourishing vitality of life here—growth and decay, light and dark—all coexisting in a perfect balance through the Force.

Taking a deep breath and pulling back from his Force sense, Amir realized something surprising: his Force powers had grown stronger again.

Thinking back, every time he pushed his Force use to the limit, his spirit would be drained—but after recovery, his strength always seemed to increase.

It hadn't been obvious before due to the lower intensity of use, but recently, the improvements were undeniable.

After confirming his physical condition, Amir guided the ship closer to the settlement at the mountain's base and landed in a clearing nearby.

In that clearing, he saw two familiar ships—without a doubt, Ahsoka and her team had already arrived.

As the ship's hatch opened, guided by the Rodian child Maciej, a quiet line of children filed down the ramp.

Ahsoka was already waiting outside, flanked by Guri Gana and Lorin. To Amir's surprise, Veronica was also there—someone he hadn't seen in a long time.

As soon as Veronica spotted Amir, she rushed over and gave him a huge hug. The red-haired girl had clearly been through a lot in the past few weeks, but her resilience shone through. She was like an unyielding flame—no matter how much she wavered, she would never be snuffed out.

"You better resupply me with more ammo—I ran out!" Veronica blurted before Amir could even say hello.

"I thought you were delivering supplies to the besieged worlds. Why'd you burn through so much ammo? I left you over twenty rounds!" Amir's thoughts were instantly derailed.

"Well… sometimes, there's a bit of resistance, you know," the red-haired girl replied sheepishly.

Ahsoka stepped in, at just the right moment. "Veronica saved us more times than I can count... she's reliable—even if she can be a bit loud sometimes."

Well, that wasn't exactly reassuring.

"No problem. I've got plenty of ammo." Amir often made bombs and bullets in his spare time, so his stockpile was healthy. It was just playful banter, anyway.

"This is our original village," Guri Gana said in her raspy voice. "We've cleaned it up a bit—it's barely habitable now."

"Let's get the children settled first. I hope this place can give them a sense of safety," Amir said, glancing back at the group. Only Mona and Millicent had the curiosity and vitality you'd expect from kids. The others were mostly fearful or wary.

"Leave it to me." Guri Gana and a few of her female tribe members led the children into the village, while Lorin stepped forward to help calm them.

Taking another deep breath of the clean air, Amir signaled to the others. "Come aboard my ship. We can talk on the way."

The Traveler lifted off once again. Their mission now was to locate a secret base on this planet. While Guri Gana's village looked safe, it had already been trampled by the Empire. If they started searching again, it would be easy to discover.

Only by hiding deep within the mountains or jungles—under cover of mist—could they truly stay safe.

"Why didn't you call for help? We could've rescued you," Ahsoka asked.

"No tracking devices. They could've taken off at any time. Plus, I was under surveillance the whole time. And I had some confidence I could handle it… there was just a surprise at the end."

"I still can't believe there was such a massive creature hiding in the asteroid belt," said Pax, the stoic caretaker of the Resistance. Even he couldn't hide his awe.

"The High Inquisitor isn't someone you deal with easily. I can't believe you were able to hold your own," Ahsoka said, clearly familiar with the bald Pau'an. "You're stronger than the last time we met."
