Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 – First Encounter with Ahsoka

Compared to others, Amir's situation was far more pitiful—every time he encountered a squad of stormtroopers, he had to find a cell and lock himself inside like a law-abiding, overly helpful prisoner.

Tap-tap-tap-tap. Another squad of stormtroopers rushed past the cell door. Amir cautiously peeked out, saw no one, and motioned for BD-4 to unlock the door. He slipped out and continued forward.

But he hadn't gone far when the sound of blaster fire echoed ahead, followed by the unmistakable hum of a lightsaber.

"Who the hell is attacking this ship? Even the Inquisitors are in the fight now?" Amir muttered, instinctively assuming it was the Empire's Inquisitors.

"Can't go that way anymore. They're getting closer! Need to hide." Amir scanned the area. This was the prison's core section, and every cell was occupied.

"Can't believe I'm fighting people for prison space now," he sighed. He spotted a cell with two unconscious inmates. Good news: both were completely out. After a moment's thought, he unlocked the door and slipped inside.

Waiting was boring as hell. Moments like this made Amir long for something as basic as a smartphone. He looked at his communicator and sighed. Entertainment in the Star Wars universe was severely lacking.

As he lowered his head, he noticed one of the prisoners slowly waking up. The young man squinted at him, blood at the corners of his mouth.

"Hah... You won't get anything from me..." he rasped, barely conscious.

"Tough guy, huh? Here, have a stim shot." Amir pulled out a med-injector from his leg strap and gave the man a shot.

He didn't fully wake but fell into steadier sleep, his breathing calm.

Blaster fire still roared outside. Amir watched the seconds tick by, growing anxious.

"Luckily we have some buffer time. But if nothing changes in two minutes, I'm moving."

So the cell remained quiet: a blond teen leaning against the door, a battered young man unconscious, and a short alien elder slumped in a corner.

Eventually, the noise outside died down. The fight had ended.

But footsteps were coming closer—and fast. Amir tensed. He glanced again at the prisoners. Something felt off.

"No way..."

Sure enough, a group stopped right outside his cell. A tech began unlocking the door.

Amir stood up silently.

The door slid open.

"You are?" Ahsoka stood there, surprised to find three figures inside. Wait—weren't there supposed to be only two?

"Uhh... we're cellmates. Real tight-knit group. Share everything, look out for each other," Amir said casually.

He stared at her. The more he looked, the more familiar she seemed.

"Ahsoka?" he blurted.

Instantly, the woman tensed. "You know me?"

Two of her team rushed past and began treating the unconscious inmates.

Amir didn't reply. He recognized her from his past-life memories. No way to explain that. Instead, he summoned BD-4.

"BD-4, get down here."

The little droid dropped from a vent and beeped happily.

"Oh! It's you, BD. Long time no see. How's Mr. Lire Bloom?" Ahsoka beamed.

So that was the coat-wearing guy's name: Lire Bloom.

Ahsoka—the Rebellion's Fulcrum. The one who'd initially contacted Bloom to track down the holorecorder. These prisoners might be the contacts Bloom had failed to find.

After patting BD-4, she turned back to Amir. "I'm Ahsoka Tano, Fulcrum agent for the Rebellion. Did Bloom tell you about me?"

"He did."

Ahsoka Tano—first seen in The Clone Wars. Taken in by Master Plo Koon, she trained as a Jedi. During the war, she became Anakin Skywalker's Padawan, balancing Jedi duties with frontline combat. Disillusioned by the Order and betrayed by a friend, she walked away from the Jedi.

Later, she fought alongside the Republic and led key victories. After the rise of the Empire, she escaped and now served the Rebellion.

Ten years had passed since the Clone Wars. No wonder Amir hadn't recognized her at first.

"Just call me Amir. I've got something to do. You two catch up."

He snapped back to focus. His mission wasn't over. He left Ahsoka and BD-4 to talk.

So that's why Saynir had insisted he bring BD-4. The holorecorder finally had a place to go.

Just as Amir stepped into the corridor, a wave of darkness washed over him. He looked up sharply.

An Inquisitor in black armor was approaching with a squad of stormtroopers.

"Been a while since I killed a Jedi," the Fifth Brother said with a sneer. He raised a double-bladed spinning saber. Crimson blades hissed to life with a low growl.

Ahsoka moved instantly into a battle stance. Seeing Amir raise his blaster, she called out:

"Do what you have to. I'll handle him."

Amir assessed her in an instant—the Inquisitor was as good as dead. He pivoted and ran.

His target was close. Just a few turns.

Without BD-4, he connected directly to the lock interface and hacked the cell open.

Inside: a blue-skinned humanoid.

A Smurf? No, wait—Pantoran? Chiss? Hard to tell.

"Rensys Coppet, right? Saynir sent me to get you out."

"Saynir? Yes! Yes, my friend! He sent you? Let's get out of here."

Rensys looked like a terrified animal. Despite his once-elegant outfit, whatever pride he had was long gone.

Amazing how someone who used to bark at Saynir now clung to his name like a lifeline.

Amir didn't care. This was just another job. He turned to lead the way back.

Then a figure blocked their path.

"Another one?!"

A female Inquisitor stood before them. Amir instantly raised his blaster.

Round two.
