Jayvaughn leaned back on the bench, his tone flat as he said, "No, he can't help us either."
Lucian stared at his friend, frustration tightening his jaw. "Look, this isn't the time for you to be overprotective, okay? We really need his help. I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't necessary. I know he's injured right now, but we can wait for him to recover, can't we?"
Jayvaughn sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "He'll need three months to recover. Barely."
Lucian turned to him with a suspicious look. "Three months? Why on earth would your boyfriend need that long to recover? When we checked the wound after rescuing him, the bullet didn't even go that deep into his shoulder. That kind of injury shouldn't affect our shooting in two weeks."
