Once the game began, the two teams split up in the building. Ayano and Tadashi immediately went up to the third floor.
Ayano: "Why are we starting here?"
Tadashi: "To target high numbers."
Ayano: "Like the 10-dice?"
Tadashi: "No need for that. Any number between 6 and 9 will suffice."
Ayano: "Alright, let's start searching."
As soon as she stepped into the hallway, she triggered a trap and arrows shot from the wall toward her. Tadashi jumped to push her aside, but an arrow grazed his cheek.
Tadashi: "Be careful."
Ayano: "Sorry... are you okay?"
Tadashi: "Let's just hope it's not poisoned."
[Meanwhile, in another room]
Guren: "Stop drawing. We need to search."
Shouta: "I'm almost done."
Guren: "I don't understand why you love these drawings."
Shouta: "They're amazing."
Shouta's drawing depicted a headless woman.
Shouta: "Just need to add the blood color."
He rummaged through his backpack but quickly grew frustrated.
Shouta: "I can't find it. I'm sure I put it here."
Guren: "What is it?"
Shouta: "The blood pouch. How am I supposed to finish my drawing without it?"
Guren: "That's not important now. Let's go."
Guren picked up his brother and left the room.
[Back to Tadashi and Ayano]
Tadashi had just entered a room.
Tadashi: "Found anything?"
Ayano: "A 6 and a 4."
Tadashi: "10 points total. That's too slow."
Ayano: "Are we that far behind?"
Tadashi: "Not really. Guren's movements will be slowed by that kid. Normally I'd suggest splitting up, but the traps would kill you."
Ayano: "So what's the plan now?"
Tadashi: "Search the rooms on this floor. I'll scout around."
Ayano: "What about the traps?"
Tadashi: "I've disabled all the traps in the hallway. You're safe. If Guren chases you, you can run freely—he'll be wary of the traps."
Ayano: "Alright."
Tadashi left her and headed to the ground floor to deposit the dice they'd found. But when he arrived, he saw something he'd hoped not to see.
Tadashi: "This is what I was afraid of..."
Guren: "Yo."
Guren was guarding the boxes.
Tadashi: "What do you want?"
Guren: "You already know."
Tadashi: "And if I don't give you anything?"
Guren: "Someone's going to get hurt."
Tadashi: "Seems you're confident about this."
Guren: "Of course. There's no rule against killing each other directly."
Tadashi: "Hmm... you're right."
Tadashi turned his back and started walking away.
Guren: "Where are you going?"
Tadashi: "Since you're here, your partner must be waiting alone in one of the rooms, no doubt. I'll kill that kid."
Guren: "You wouldn't dare."
Tadashi: "Watch me."
Tadashi sprinted toward the stairs and climbed, with Guren chasing close behind.
Tadashi: "Can you keep up?"
Tadashi entered the first floor and ran through the hallway, Guren in pursuit.
On every floor, numerous traps were triggered as they ran—arrows shooting from walls, spears jutting from the floor, flamethrowers.
Tadashi dodged the traps effortlessly, while Guren struggled slightly to evade them.
The chase continued until Guren finally reached the stairs where it was safe. He was sweating and exhausted, while Tadashi stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at him.
Tadashi: "Man, you're already tired?"
Guren: "Damn... This wasn't part of our plan. He's trying to waste my time while his partner searches for dice, most likely. He thinks Shouta is just a helpless kid, but he's completely wrong."
...
Shouta: "Hmm... Guren's late. That annoying guy probably provoked him into chasing him."
Shouta stepped out of the safe room.
Shouta: "In that case, I'll have to make my move."
As soon as he stepped out of the room, he stood still, staring down the corridor—every corner, every crevice, every subtle detail. His eyes scanned the area like a laser beam. Then, he began moving forward slowly, stepping precisely in specific spots as if he already knew where the traps were. He reached the end of the hallway without triggering a single one.
Shouta: "Lol... even a kid could get through this easily."
