Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: An Unwarranted Calamity

Tsunade scoffed at Shindai's plea for help. Who here would dare stop her?

Jiraiya, who had dark circles under his eyes and was receiving emergency treatment from two medical ninjas, let out a long sigh of relief.

Although Tsunade had still landed a couple punches on his face before leaving, at least he had survived.

Feeling the emotional aftermath of surviving such danger, Jiraiya almost wanted to cry.

On the other side, Shindai was also crying, especially after seeing Tsunade pull the black cloth back over her eyes. Shindai cried even harder.

He lunged forward, grabbing Tsunade's legs tightly while sobbing and pleading for forgiveness.

"Tsunade-sama! I'm just a child! What harm could a child possibly do? It was Jiraiya-sama who insisted I become a puppet! I couldn't say no! Please, just because I'm still a kid, forgive me this once!

You can ask Obito, Tsunade-sama! Ask him if it wasn't Jiraiya-sama who insisted I become a puppet!"

Obito was stunned by what he heard.

What did this have to do with him?!

Tsunade slowly turned her head toward Obito again.

Although she hadn't spoken a word, and her eyes were covered by the cloth, Obito still felt a chill creep up his spine.

"M-Me...?"

Her voice, completely devoid of emotion, said, "Tell the truth."

Obito immediately stood straight and answered honestly, "That day, Jiraiya-sama really did come into Shindai's tent, suddenly asking if customization was possible. Then Shindai replied, 'Of course!' saying he could customize anything..."

Obito blurted out everything he knew, like a geyser erupting with no way to stop it.

Shindai listened in total shock, cursing Obito in his mind as he heard everything come out so bluntly.

Why did Obito have to say it so bluntly like that?! It made it sound as though they were working together in some evil scheme!

Which, they sort of were...

But couldn't you have put it a little more delicately?

Hastily, Shindai continued pleading with Tsunade while interrupting Obito's testimony, "I swear, from now on if you say jump, I'll ask how high. If you order me to chase chickens, I won't start chasing dogs instead. From now on, I'll follow your orders to the letter—I'll be your most loyal servant!"

Ignoring Shindai completely, Tsunade motioned for Obito to come closer.

Like an idiot, Obito obediently walked directly in front of her.

Smirking slightly, Tsunade said, "Don't worry, this will be over soon."

Still unaware of the severity of the situation, Obito asked confusedly, "Eh? What do you mean 'over'?"

But very soon, he understood.

Tsunade swung both fists simultaneously, landing heavy punches—like giant iron rice bowls—on both Shindai and Obito.

The pair howled in agony.

Although Tsunade hadn't used her monstrous strength, the punches still hurt like hell.

Obito was completely stunned.

Why?! Why had he been hit too?! What did this have to do with him?!

A crowd had gathered around, watching Tsunade beat Shindai and Obito, many letting out sharp gasps at the sight.

It looked agonizing to watch.

But no one dared to intervene.

Who would dare? Anyone who tried to stop her right now would only earn a beating—Tsunade wouldn't hesitate to take them down too.

Fifteen minutes later, the merciless beating finally ended.

Shindai and Obito's heads were swollen like pig faces, their whole bodies bruised and puffed up.

Blood dripped from their noses and mouths, leaving them in a pitiful condition.

"Phew, that felt good."

Tsunade let out a long breath, feeling relieved and invigorated.

She waved toward the nearby medical ninja. Two of them rushed over immediately.

Tsunade waved her hand. "Take these two brats for treatment."

"Yes, Lady Tsunade."

The two medics looked at Shindai and Obito and shook their heads in resignation.

Out of all people, they had to pick a fight with Tsunade.

The two medical ninja threw Shindai and Obito over their shoulders and carried them into a tent for treatment.

Tsunade took off the black cloth covering her eyes and suddenly froze in place.

She slapped her forehead. "Oh no, I forgot about the letter the old man wanted Jiraiya or Minato to see."

Tsunade had gone to Shindai's tent specifically to look for Jiraiya.

Because a Konoha ninja had urgently rushed to Konoha's base camp from the village.

This ninja had been sent by Hiruzen Sarutobi to deliver the message.

However, he was injured—during his journey through Hot Water Country, which had become a battlefield between Konoha and Kumogakure, he accidentally triggered a hidden trap and sustained serious injuries.

Upon arrival at the base camp, the ninja lost consciousness from severe blood loss.

As soon as they found him, the camp's medical ninja immediately started treating him.

Once he regained consciousness, the ninja immediately tried to get up and find Jiraiya—the letter had to be handed directly to either Jiraiya or Minato Namikaze.

However, his injuries were severe, and the medical ninja were still treating him, preventing him from getting out of bed.

Because of the commotion, Tsunade happened to walk by and overheard everything.

The ninja told Tsunade about the letter, and she promised to deliver it to Jiraiya herself so he could focus on recovering without worry.

Because it was Tsunade, the ninja handed over the letter without hesitation.

Tsunade went to Jiraiya's tent but couldn't find him. Then she met Rin Nohara, who said she had just seen Jiraiya heading toward Shindai's tent.

In the end, Rin led Tsunade to Shindai's tent—setting off the scene everyone witnessed.

Tsunade hurried straight to Minato's tent, hoping he could read the letter right away.

The bloodstains on Jiraiya had already been cleaned, and Medical Ninja were treating his wounds.

Tsunade asked, "How is he?"

"Uh... Fractured right scapula, broken right arm, and several ruptured internal organs."

After examining Jiraiya's injuries, the medical ninja were all shocked. This level of injury was extreme!

It looked like Tsunade and Jiraiya must have had some deep-seated feud.

Tsunade pursed her lips and continued asking, "Is he conscious?"

The medical ninja replied, "He's unconscious."

Tsunade felt a bit of a headache coming on. If she'd known earlier, she should have gone easier on him—or at least let him read the letter before attacking him.

Just as Tsunade prepared to personally treat Jiraiya herself, she heard voices from outside the tent.

"Minato has returned."

"Yeah, I just saw him. He's still so handsome."

"I wish I could be Minato's girlfriend someday."

"No way! That spot is mine!"

Immediately abandoning the thought of treating Jiraiya further, Tsunade directly walked out of the tent toward several female medical ninja who were gushing over romantic fantasies and arguing about who would become Minato Namikaze's girlfriend.

Tsunade asked, "Where is Minato?"

Seeing Tsunade, those female medical ninja immediately turned very formal: "Tsunade-sama, Minato should currently be reporting mission results to Orochimaru-sama."

Nodding slightly, Tsunade strode toward Orochimaru's location.
