Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: God of Feats

The boy crossed his arms, carefully observing the options the system was showing him. There were too many, and for something as important as choosing his main divinity, he had to be extremely cautious.

"This is going to define everything... not just my role, but the fate of those who join me," he thought, slightly frowning.

He started to consider what a Familia needed most. The first thing that came to mind was simple and direct: powerful members or ones with exceptional talent. Adventurers who wouldn't just survive, but stand out.

He reviewed the options slowly, reading each description attentively. Some had impressive perks: God of Heroes, God of Victory, God of Valor, God of Effort... all of them tempting, but none quite convinced him.

Then, one in particular caught his attention.

"Alright... if I choose 'God of Feats' as the core, I need my children to be able to face all kinds of challenges, and by overcoming them, gain a power-up... like Bell, who basically eats danger for breakfast," he muttered, more to himself than to the system, though he knew it was listening. The system didn't respond, as if already used to his constant inner monologue.

[God of Feats (Main Divinity)]

[Passive Benefits:

-For every significant Feat performed by a member of your Familia (such as defeating a stronger monster solo, surviving certain death, crafting a remarkable weapon or artifact, performing heroic acts, etc.), a greater increase in stats is granted.

-There is a chance to unlock Skills or Magic related to those Feats.-Missions that require accomplishing a great Feat will yield more significant rewards.]

Feats, as a main divinity, made him a catalyst for extraordinary achievements. It wasn't a blessing that granted strength or magic directly, but something more valuable: potential. Every time a member accomplished something meaningful, it would open the door to explosive growth.

A Familia like that would need to be prepared for everything. Adapt, improvise, constantly break their limits. In Danmachi, those who truly grow strong go through extreme moments. Bell was the perfect example: every time he did something worthy of being called a Feat, his abilities skyrocketed. If he could replicate that in his Familia, they'd be destined for greatness.

"Then... I need to make sure they have the power necessary to achieve those Feats," he reflected quietly, sliding his finger across the interface until he found what he was looking for.

He chose an essential category for any fantasy world filled with magic and monsters: Magic.

First Choice

[God of Magic]

[Passive Benefits:

-Your children will learn magic more easily upon leveling up or receiving falna, and their Magic stat will increase slightly faster.

-Slight improvement in magic control, allowing members to learn abilities such as Chant Continuation, and increases Mind Recovery.

-High likelihood of receiving quests related to magic use and magical artifacts.]

An almost automatic choice. Magic was incredibly versatile. It could be used for offense, defense, or support. Its utility was so wide that it couldn't be ignored.

But he couldn't depend on it alone.

Physical combat was the true core of Orario's adventurers due to its abundance, and because mages were often very vulnerable. Throwing spells wasn't enough if you wanted to stand out, let alone survive the deep floors. He needed adventurers who could face the impossible head-on.

Second Choice

[God of Combat]

[Passive Benefits:

-Members of your Familia slightly increase their combat instincts and learn melee or weapon techniques faster, gaining improved growth in Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, and Agility stats, depending on their combat style.

-More frequent access to combat

-oriented skills like Weapon Mastery, Battle Sense, or Counter.-Missions involving duels, mass battles, or fights against powerful monsters will yield greater rewards.]

The third decision was much harder.

There were so many options, and he was tempted by categories like God of Scouts or Pioneer God, which would boost his Familia's performance in dungeon exploration. Both were interesting… but not enough.

"I need something that ensures my Familia's self-sufficiency," he thought, crossing his arms while analyzing the implications. He didn't want to depend entirely on selling magic stones or dungeon-gathered materials. Nor did he want his members living in debt from buying or repairing weapons.

He thought about blacksmithing, trading, even alchemy.

"I want a semi-autonomous Familia… one that doesn't need to owe too many favors to other Familias every time something breaks or goes missing," he murmured, remembering how the Hephaestus and Goibniu Familias practically controlled everything related to forging, weapons, and armor.

Competing against them would be a waste of time.

Besides, artisans weren't just blacksmiths. Mages created unique artifacts: flying boots, invisibility helmets, rings that boosted abilities. And alchemists… they could heal, enhance, transform.

Then he saw it.

An option that summed up everything he was looking for.

Third Choice

[God of Creation]

[Passive Benefits:

-Enhances creativity, design, and development of magical artifacts, structures, consumables, tools, and weapons. When a member innovates something, there's a small chance of developing a Skill related to what they created and how they did it.

-Increases the quality of creations and occasionally allows for unique effects in produced items.

-Frequent access to commissioned missions, commercial collaborations, and expansion projects.]

"With this, I can have explorers, fighters, mages, and crafters working together," he murmured with a faint smile. "A truly versatile Familia, but with a clear focus on the dungeon. If I can't stand out in Orario with all these advantages… then I'm not meant to be a God."

He shrugged.

"In that case, I'll just leave and live a quiet life in some remote corner."

He tapped the screen to confirm his decision.

A soft vibration ran through the panel. A golden glow briefly enveloped him.

[Divinity Configuration Completed.]

[Main Divinity: God of Feats.]

[Minor Divinities: God of Magic, God of Combat, God of Creation.]

He felt something open inside him. A kind of warm, latent energy awakening from his chest and spreading like a living current through his entire body.

It didn't hurt. In fact, it was… comforting. As if, for the first time, he was exactly where he was meant to be.

Then another window appeared.

[Select the name you will be addressed by. Just like with the divinities, this decision cannot be changed.]

Without hesitation, he typed the first name that came to mind.

[Kratos is not available]

"What? Come on! I'm pretty sure Kratos is completely fictional."

[Kratos shares a name with 'Cratos' in Latin, a deity representing strength, and is thus unavailable due to strong similarities.]

The message was brief but clear. He didn't feel like arguing with the system. He started thinking of another name, but couldn't come up with one he liked. Sighing, he activated the system's name generator.

[Vincitrail]

[Pateros]

He didn't like either.

He kept pressing. One after another, they all sounded… weird. Then he thought of a different approach.

"Familias take the name of their God… so, why not something that sounds like a legacy?"

He typed

[Trailblazer]

The system paused.

[...]

[Are you sure you want your new name to be "Trailblazer"?]

"Yes."

[...]

[Please note that it cannot be changed.]

"...."

With so many warnings, it was clear the system was trying to make him change his mind.

In the end, he gave up.

He went back to the auto-generator and didn't even bother reading carefully this time.

[Are you sure you want to be called "Valerion"?]

"Yes."

[Initiating binding protocol.]

A wave of heat ran down his back, climbed up his neck, and settled behind his eyes. For a moment, everything turned white, as if the world had reset.

And then...

Everything was sharper.

He could hear more clearly, see more details, even feel the wind's pressure on his skin. The world felt more… alive.

One last notification appeared.

[Congratulations! You are now officially recognized as a God of Feats.]

Your Familia will grow around glory, effort, and achievement. Your children will be those who dare to dream, and more importantly, to act surpassing their limits.

[You may now be considered a true God, but to unlock your Arcanum, you must complete missions, though its use will still be restricted. Alternatively, you can abandon Gekai and return to Tenkai.]

He found it interesting that he was truly considered a God now, which meant his life was eternal, so long as he didn't die in the dungeon.

"So... where do I start?"

He looked around. Orario's streets were just as bustling as ever. Merchants shouting, adventurers preparing for their dives, citizens rushing back and forth.

Though he was now a God, with an aura that set him apart from any mortal… no one turned to look at him. In a city where Gods were part of everyday life, no one was surprised to see another one walking around.
