Chapter 25 - NO MERCY

"Of course," said Sharv, gripping and disintegrating the spear lodged in Suvan's chest. Blood spurted out at the same time, but Sharv immediately healed the wound. It was simple since the wound was not inflicted with any curses or abnormalities.

"Thanks." Suvan was looking at his chest in disbelief. For him, it would have taken at least a day or two of intense rest to recover. But Sharv made the wound disappear in seconds.

"So what are you up to?" Sharv looked around at the hallway and prison layout.

"I thought I would take a chance while you hold others back and free our fellows."

"Good. I'll take care of anybody who is a commander or above. Do your work," Sharv said, moving out after that.

The battleground was now different. Vrat had not healed himself. Marshal Khar was standing near him alongside the two sector chiefs and two other commanders under his command.

"Why don't you guys leave old man Vrat alone? He will need some 'me time' before departing from this world." Sharv hovered behind Khar and the other commanders, his Chakras still active in their awakened form.

'You still remember me, you brat. And still left me in pain instead of just killing me,' Vrat thought, laughing weakly with a smile.

"You won't leave this place unscathed, you know that, right?" Marshal Khar turned back to face him and pulled out a sword just like Vrat's. The other Commanders also took out weapons, though they were shaking from fear.

"You won't see the sunrise, you know that, right?" Sharv looked down at his opponents, unbothered. His eyes didn't show any emotion. There was no anger, no hate, no contempt, and no excitement either. The comment gave goosebumps to the commanders. They had not thought about this in detail, but apparently, Sharv was right. Khar was surprised that Sharv spoke.

"You are a KEEPER. I have read their doctrines. Protect the weak. Don't fight without a reason. And many others. But why do you fight us?" Khar asked. "I don't know of any reason that would make you come here and attack us."

Sharv moved without speaking. He appeared in front of Khar, one of Khar's underlings impaled on his sword.

'What!' Khar looked at his underling and then at Sharv's face. 'I don't see a way I can beat him.'

"Are you that ignorant? Or do you think you can talk your way out of this?" Sharv asked Khar, his eyes emotionless, his voice dry and flat. "Your kind hunts KEEPERS for fun. We… are enemies from birth to death."

Khar was flabbergasted. He couldn't look straight. "Wh- What do you mean 'My Kind'?" he asked, looking at Vrat, who was watching them with curiosity.

"Don't pretend. I knew you were a Voidheart from the moment you used the cursed technique," Sharv spoke, but at the same time, a headless body fell. Another one of Khar's underlings had been decapitated by him. "The wound didn't heal even after I used my best healing techniques," Sharv said, removing a part of his armor over his chest, revealing a protruding wound still gushing blood. He covered it again.

The gimmick was over. And Khar had enough of pretending to be the good guy.

"So what? You think you are here to deliver justice?" Khar almost shouted. "You are not innocent. More than a hundred people have already died due to your attack. Innocent prisoners and guards died because of you. You are not even following the KEEPERS' doctrine."

"Innocent prisoners?" This time nobody else was killed. Both the Sector-Chiefs were safe and sound. An audible sigh was heard from Vrat. "That is a really good joke," Sharv continued. "But sorry, I don't deliver justice, as of now. I am here to simply fulfill a promise I made."

"A promise? To those rebels? Who stand against their own motherland? Kill anybody to achieve what they want? You think they are good? They deserve a promise?" Khar said, pointing at Suvan, who emerged from the broken prison wall alongside more than twenty other men, all Commanders. He had been able to get them out without any problem since most of the prison guards were outside.

"You fail in changing my mind. But let me tell you something," Sharv looked at Suvan and the other rebels. "I had made a promise to an individual, not the org. If I find them half as deserving of death as your kind, I will personally decimate their base here, and the same fate would await their organization in the future." The rebels grunted in dissatisfaction. Even the kingdom had been unable to destroy their organization. Then who was this guy? Suvan, on the other hand, felt his spine tingle as drops of sweat covered his forehead. He had witnessed Sharv's power. His fellow rebels might not know what the pressure that had brought them to their knees implied, but he did. If Sharv, at sixteen years of age, could do this, who knew what kind of monster he would be in a decade or two.

But for Khar, Sharv's words meant a different conclusion. 'Meaning I am bound to die. But he has the cursed wound.'

"Since you are hearing me out, how about I heal your curse? It would just take a few hours," Khar offered, backing off a little.

Sharv shook his head. "I do not go back on my words. You won't see the sunrise." He raised his right hand in a familiar position. Khar took this as a sign of war. He cut his left palm with his own sword, then touched his forehead with his left hand.

"PARADOX OF…." But before he could finish, a whisper was heard.

"ĀKĀSHĪYÀ VICCHĒDÀN"

A loud sound of tearing followed, just like before, echoing through the whole city. All the commanders nearby, including Sector-Chiefs and rebels, fell to their knees. Now the rebels had a horrified look on their faces. Silence fell after the attack.

Khar's blade, which he had held straight in front of his chest, fell, breaking the silence. It had been cut in two alongside Khar's neck but didn't fall immediately, just like Khar. He was still standing, blood seeping out of his neck, his eyes filled with fury and mouth open. His body had not registered his death. Then he slowly crumbled, face first.

Sharv was standing in front of Vrat, who had lost all his blood.

"Old man, why would you come here? And why did you declare a death match mid-fight?"
