Chapter 21 - Chapter – Unknown Unleashed: Thought of God, Wrath of Man

[Second Floor – Heart of the Mist – Warzone]

The world was breaking.

Ash fell like snow. The ground trembled beneath thousands of feet, some running, some standing frozen in fear. The Tower's second floor had become a living nightmare.

Kalygra, Eater of Realms, had awakened.

Dozens of squads were gone in seconds—burnt, torn, consumed. Elemental attacks bounced off its hide. Bullets, swords, even spatial magic—nothing left a scratch. Its laughter wasn't sound, but a thought—a twisted melody in the minds of all who faced it.

BOOM!

A surge of violet energy exploded across the field. At the epicenter, Dev Rajan knelt, one arm dislocated, blood pouring from a deep gash along his side. Meera stood above him, her hands glowing white as she screamed out a healing incantation.

"Dev—DON'T MOVE!" she cried, voice shaking. "You'll rupture your core!"

"I'm fine," Dev grunted through clenched teeth, trying to stand. "Where's Kaito?!"

Aya landed beside them, her UR aura flickering like a dying sun. "He's not here yet. Damn it—this thing's not something we can handle—"

She didn't finish her sentence.

Because at that moment, the mist parted like curtains.

And Kaito Yamada walked through.

He was alone. His coat flapped in the wind, eyes half-lidded, expression blank. Not blank with fear—but with fury.

Aya turned. "Kaito—!"

He didn't respond.

His eyes locked onto Kalygra.

And the world held its breath.

---

"I imagine…" Kaito said softly, raising a hand toward the sky, "…a world without you."

Kalygra's head snapped in his direction. A dozen limbs twisted unnaturally. "WHAT ARE YOU, CHILD?"

"Death."

CRACK!

Reality shattered above them. The sky split in geometric lines—black, gold, and blinding white. Something ancient and incomprehensible poured into the battlefield.

Kalygra roared in fury. It launched itself at Kaito—

And stopped mid-air.

It wasn't frozen. It wasn't stunned. It was denied.

Kaito's power had overwritten its right to move.

He stepped forward, eyes burning. "You tried to kill them. You hurt my partner. You made Meera cry. You made Dev bleed."

Each word brought the world closer to collapse.

"I don't forgive you."

---

Within Kaito's mind, the System screamed:

> WARNING: Reality Distortion Level 9

Power Threshold: EXCEEDED

Skill: [Conceptual Rewrite] – Active

You are approaching total collapse…

---

"I imagine you suffer."

Kalygra screeched, body convulsing. Its thoughts began to fold in on themselves. Memories of devouring stars, of ending worlds, were reversed. Pain flowed backward. It remembered its first birth—and its final death.

It screamed for release.

There would be none.

Kaito's next words were whispered, but every Awakened heard them.

"I imagine… a prison made of guilt."

Chains of light—woven from regrets, pain, broken promises—wrapped around the beast's body. It crashed to the earth, shaking the floor for miles.

---

[Elsewhere – Command Outpost]

Xenovia, Dmitri, Chloe, and Aamir watched from afar, unable to move.

"He's doing the impossible," Dmitri whispered, eyes wide.

"Not impossible," Aamir said, jaw tight. "Unreal."

---

[Back on the Battlefield]

Meera clutched Dev's hand. "You're alive… thank god…"

"I'm more scared of that guy than the monster now," Dev muttered.

Aya knelt beside Kaito, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Kaito. That's enough. You'll burn out."

He didn't speak.

His body trembled.

But then… he nodded.

He turned to Kalygra, now bound and groaning. And with a final sigh—

"Sleep."

The beast's body collapsed, turning into fog and fading into the earth.

[Final Scene]

Kaito collapsed.

Aya caught him in her arms, tears streaming down her cheeks. "You idiot. You saved the world again."

Meera held Dev close, eyes filled with gratitude. "He… he didn't even look back at the glory."

Dmitri's voice echoed across the mist.

"He doesn't care for glory. He's just angry the people he cares about got hurt."
