Chapter 39 - 39. Hawkeye is cheated out of money by Shanks

Meanwhile,

On a certain unnamed island, the massive pirate ship Red Force lay quietly at anchor, its skull and crossbones flag flapping fiercely in the wind.

On the island, the Red-Haired Pirates were holding a grand feast that had already lasted for many days.

Their boss, Shanks, was sitting there with the man wielding the black blade, Mihawk, seemingly having endless topics to discuss.

"Hey, Mihawk, stop playing on your phone all the time. What's so good about that TikTok? It's all women wiggling around. It's not as kind and dignified as Makino."

Shanks picked up two large mugs of beer, shoved one into Mihawk's hand, forcefully clinked glasses with him, and then downed his own.

Mihawk, exposed by Shanks in front of so many people, showed no sign of annoyance. Instead, he laughed heartily and drained the beer in his mug.

After all, they had known each other for many years and were long used to each other's "pranks."

Then, Shanks picked up another mug of beer and handed it to Mihawk. As Mihawk took it, Shanks said with a smile, "I say, Mihawk, what's the point of staring at your phone all day? With that time, you could place two orders from Makino's shopping cart. My beer is almost gone."

"Hmph!"

Seeing Shanks' shameless expression, Mihawk directly turned his pockets inside out, showing an expression of "I don't have a single penny left," and complained, "You scoundrel! First, you tricked me into following Makino, and then you make me order from her shopping cart every day. Now I don't have a single Berry left in my pocket."

Shanks acted as if he hadn't heard Mihawk's complaint and continued to laugh heartily, clinking his mug and saying, "Oh, Mihawk, how long have we been old friends? Stop talking and drink up!"

"Hmph!"

Although Mihawk complained, he still took the mug and clinked it with Shanks.

The two continued to drink mug after mug, as if they could never get drunk.

The pirates around them were also infected by their atmosphere and joined in the revelry one after another.

Just then, Lucky Roo came running over, his large belly jiggling, holding his phone with an expression full of surprise. He shouted loudly, "Boss, Boss, look, that kid Luffy posted another video!"

"What? News about Luffy again?" A hint of surprise flashed in Shanks' eyes. He immediately put down his mug and snatched the phone Lucky Roo handed him.

When he saw Luffy in the video shouting at the Marines, loudly declaring that he would become the Pirate King, Shanks could no longer hold back and burst into laughter, looking up at the sky.

Even Mihawk beside him couldn't help but shake his head, a hint of helplessness on his face.

He had never quite understood why Shanks would put all his chips on this young kid.

In his opinion, Luffy hadn't shown anything extraordinary; he was just a hot-blooded and impulsive teenager.

"Just like Luffy! He can curse anyone who provokes him, hahahaha." Yasopp, who was nearby, also chimed in with a smile, adding, "These kids have no combat power, not even as good as a low-level pirate, but their follower count has long surpassed ours by several times."

Benn Beckman sat not far away, not looking up, just continuing to focus on wiping his revolver, as if everything around him had nothing to do with him.

Hearing Yasopp's words, he said coldly, "What's the use of that? It's just a form of entertainment."

"No way, Beckman, you weren't like that last night when you were watching that livestream." Lucky Roo immediately teased, his voice carrying a hint of playfulness, his eyes full of mischief.

Yasopp also shook his head, his tone carrying a hint of teasing. "You know, it would be great if you saved some money usually, then you could buy your own phone and wouldn't have to borrow others'."

Beckman's face flushed slightly, and he snorted coldly, no longer paying attention to the others.

It was something everyone on the ship knew: he had never been interested in money.

So naturally, he didn't have the money to buy a phone right away.

Moreover, he disdained asking others for help with buying a phone, which resulted in almost everyone on the ship having a phone except for Beckman, though it seemed he had recently started saving money.

...

Meanwhile, on the balcony of the Marine Headquarters attic, sunlight bathed the two Marine admirals, making the scene particularly serene.

Garp and Sengoku lay side by side on rattan chairs, enjoying this rare moment of leisure. The sunlight filtered through the balcony railing, casting dappled light and shadows on them.

Sengoku's goat stood not far away, leisurely grazing on weeds, occasionally lifting its head to look at its master with gentle eyes, and then at Garp.

Garp looked at the goat and suddenly said, "I say, Sengoku, your goat can eat any grass, yet you're specifically placing orders for it on the Grass Kingdom's TikTok shopping cart."

Sengoku snorted coldly. "You're the same. Before, you used to buy senbei by the bag, but since they started a group buying event, your warehouse is almost overflowing, isn't it?"

Garp's eyebrow twitched slightly, a hint of surprise on his face. "You know that?"

He had thought his secret hoarding was completely undetected, but he didn't expect Sengoku to find out.

"I am Sengoku, the Marine Fleet Admiral officially certified by TikTok, a big blogger with hundreds of thousands of followers. Is there anything I don't know?" Sengoku said lightly, without even lifting his eyelids.

Since registering a TikTok account, his backend has been flooded with private messages every day; the notification sounds have barely stopped.

The content of these private messages is varied, either complaining about a certain Captain or grumbling about a certain Vice Admiral.

And there are quite a few "informants," reporting things like which Captain carelessly littered or which Vice Admiral relieved himself wherever he pleased.

Information like this made it hard for him not to know.

Sometimes, he even felt like he was managing a large "TikTok complaint center."

However, it was precisely these seemingly trivial pieces of information that made his management work simpler.

He no longer needed to hold routine morning meetings every day but could directly post messages on TikTok.

Problems that could be solved were solved immediately; those that couldn't be solved, he would find every possible way to resolve.

This efficient communication method made the management of the entire Marines more flexible and convenient.

Even the remote Marine branches had followed him one after another and joined the fan group he created.

Any movements they had would be reported to him immediately.

If it couldn't be explained in a few words, they would start a video call or record a video to explain clearly.

As a result, the efficiency of the entire Marines' work also increased significantly.
