We return to Nikolai's room. He sits and watches his book write page after page infront of him. He feels a gust of wind when the door opens. He looks up…and sees you. He smirks.
Nikolai: Well hello hello. You're still here. What wonderful news! That shows that this story is doing something right. But if you are here with me, that must mean you have questions that need answers.
I turn back the pages from my book to where you left off. I see that you finished reading The Behemoth battle.
Nikolai: How was The Behemoth fight? I personally thought it was really good for a first big fight.
I glance at the page where HeroDude managed to lift up the behemoth.
Nikolai: Although, I sure hope that the powerscalers don't pay too much attention to the fact that Kage defeated someone that was 10 buildings tall. While it's a impressive feat. It's easy to look at future fights and call Kage's power "inconsistent" without understanding lore.
I place my finger at the last line you read from the last chapter. Then I realize the question that you need answered.
Nikolai: Ah. That snap really was something. It can be hard to hold in your emotions for quite a long time. But why does Kage even have these emotions huh? Well…we gotta go back…..
I flip the page back some more. So far back that we see words that never seen the daylight.
Nikolai:…to the start. And don't worry. Imma summarize it for you. No need for some flashback arc this early in the story…so. Let's begin.
Ever since Kage became HeroDude, he would do anything and everything in his power to save not everyone he can. But everyone period. He has saved day numerous times. Form many types of enemies from many different places.
You would think that a lot of people would love and appreciate someone like Kage.
Well. You'd be wrong. The love and hatered towards HeroDude is almost perfectly divided. Some people think that he's actually a hero. That he is one of the only sorcerers who care. You know, one of the good ones.
While the other side thinks HeroDude is just a poser, a pretender. Some even think that he isn't trying to save anyone. Instead, they believe HeroDude is trying to push them out the way.
With half calling HeroDude a Hero and the other half a gimmick. It was hard for HeroDude to keep his cool for so long. It's easy to just listen to the people who likes you. But with hatered swarming from any direction. That can indeed be a challenge.
HeroDude was always frustrated with this even when he tries to hold it in. He never understood why. He saving them because he genuinely wants to save them. There's nothing wrong with what he's doing. So why? Why do they hate me? These are the questions HeroDude asks himself.
But we got tired of Questioning. After The Behemoth battle he finally begs for answers. All that inner rage…he couldn't hold it in any longer. He snapped. It wasn't for long. But his voice was finally heard. But how was it heard? How does the powerless take the response? Those are questions…we are soon to find out.
HERODUDE KAGE: Chapter 19
The sun sets as it turns night. The two brothers make it back home. But before they unlock the front door, Quadeem calls his brother's name.
Kage turns and says: What's up.
Quadeem walks up to him: Now you knew damn well that you wasn't supposed to crash out like that to the crowd…..
Kage steps closer to Quadeem.
Kage: Well. Sometimes you just gotta get your feelings out dawg.
Quadeem responds: Yeah but when you get your feelings out like that? People are gonna misinterpret and play around with what you said.
Kage "takes off his mask": Misinterpret what? I finally spoke what was on my mind!
Quadeem quickly cuts him off with his hands spread open like he knows an argument is about to start.
Quadeem: Bro… you said that if you didn't save then they would've rot and died. ROT and died. People gonna make it sound like you ain't wanna save them for real!
Kage smacks his thighs and pace around.
Kage: But I did! I did want to save them and you know that!
Quadeem: But did It sound like you wanted to? That's what matters right now.
It's silent for a while. Quadeem look toward the ground and shakes his head. Quadeem looks back up at Kage and tries to lighten the mood.
Quadeem: look. Let's just get back inside. We gotta college to visit to remember? And don't take off your mask outside. I'm pretty sure pops told you that already.
Kage: Yeah yeah.
Quadeem walks past Kage to unlock the door. But before he opens it, he turns to Kage one more time.
Quadeem: Aye. At least you can say that you lifted a multi-building tall giant. No matter what people say. They can't bulls**t about that.
Kage: Yeah…I did do that.
The two enter the house. Their father, Raheem is in the living room sleeping while the movie is still rolling infront of him.
Their mother, Abigail hasn't come home from work yet. They head upstairs and when Kage goes to his room he sees his little sister Jamila playing with his toys again.
Kage sneaks up behind her and says…
Kage: Now what I tell you about playing with my stuff?
Jamila jumped and quickly turns.
Jamila: Kage!!! Uh. How was your….hero stuff.
Kage crouches to her height.
Kage: It was cool. How was my limited action figure that's no longer in it's box?
Jamila responds saying..
Jamila: Uhhh i'm sorry! It just looked so cool!
Kage laughs.
Kage: What happened to playing with your girly dolls Jamila?
She folds her arms.
Jamila: They don't know how to fight! And…uh…one of them have a crush in this toy!
Kage plays along and says: Bruh what? She crazy for that. How about you tell her that this guy is actually super evil! He enslaved many lands! He even took away one of the victim's K-pop demon hunters DVDs.
Jamila yells: NOOO REALLY?
Kage says: Yes really.
Jamila crosses her arms tighter this time and says: Hmph! Looks like I gotta tell Danica the bad news.
Jamila waddles out of Kage's room. But before she leave Kage calls her name.
Jamila: Hm?
Kage: The next time you wanna play with my stuff? Just ask. I'm not Quadeem. There is a very high chance I'll say yes ok?
Jamila smiles and says: Okay!
As soon as she walks out of Kage's room. Kage's smile dropped….

You might have noticed that the writing style been changing up lately. Well that is because I'm trynna do something where the writing is more based on the paste of the chapter or something like that. So if there is a part that I feel needs to be more laid out then usual. I'll change the writing to something more detailed. If not, I'll keep the same style. But the new writing style is still pretty new to me so bear with me!
