Chapter 169 - Chapter 169: Prophecy

Near the Watermill, a small house with the name "Shirley" on it.

Sephiroth carried a bouquet of red roses in his left hand and knocked on the door. A moment later, Shirley, in her white bikini, opened the door.

"For you," Sephiroth said, handing over the bouquet, then taking a bottle of perfume from his pocket.

"Thank you," Shirley accepted it coldly.

Seeing her indifferent face, Sephiroth smiled mischievously. "Just 'thank you'?" He stepped inside, closing the door behind him.

On the large white bed, Sephiroth and Shirley lay listlessly, hugging each other. Shirley puffed on her red cigarette. Sephiroth also took one.

The taste of Fish-Man tobacco was a bit strange. He preferred cigars. He remembered Smoker, his bunkmate at the military academy, who was never without a cigar. He only wanted to smoke because he saw Shirley smoking. Humans are so easily imitative, he mocked himself inwardly, then patted Shirley's hip.

Smack!

Shirley rolled her eyes, annoyed. "Wait a minute! Let me finish my cigarette..."

"No. I want you to help me with a prophecy," Sephiroth raised his right hand, pointing to a purple crystal ball inside a seashell.

"Huh, why don't you get it yourself?" Shirley didn't seem too angry.

"You don't need a special ritual?" Sephiroth asked, then he walked over and picked up the crystal ball.

"No need to bother. I just need the crystal ball to see the images in my mind..." Shirley glanced at the crystal ball.

A glimpse of an image appeared in her mind: a middle-aged man with long horns, black hair, and a club in his hand, looking coldly at a silver-haired youth lying in a pool of blood.

Shirley was shocked, her eyes full of fear. The cigarette in her hand fell.

"I-I saw it... Your death, Sephiroth."

Shirley hugged her head, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Sephiroth was surprised. He didn't expect his little joke to result in a prophecy of his own death. He put the crystal ball back in its place, returned to the bed, and hugged Shirley gently.

"What did you see?" he asked in a soothing tone.

"I saw... Kaido! That man is Kaido!" Shirley closed her eyes, trying to remember more details. "You fought him, and he killed you. You fell in a pool of blood."

Sephiroth's body tensed. He had a plan to attack Wano and Kaido in the future, but he had never mentioned it to Shirley. Given that Shirley's prophecies were always 100% accurate, he felt uneasy.

Although a prophecy was only a fragment of the future, Sephiroth still planned to postpone his attack on Wano for two or three years. If necessary, he would wait more than ten years, until Luffy came to Wano, and then he could join to minimize the risk.

Shirley leaned on Sephiroth's shoulder, her voice hoarse. "I'm sorry... I foretold a bad outcome for you. I won't be able to see your future again until this prophecy comes true... I am so, so sorry. My prophecies are always bad."

"Yesterday, I made a prophecy for myself. I saw us together. I thought it was a good prophecy, but..."

"Being with me, you don't feel good?" Sephiroth smiled mischievously, lifting Shirley's chin.

"No... S-mmph!"

Shirley was about to speak, but Sephiroth silenced her with a kiss.

After a long while, Sephiroth looked into Shirley's breathless eyes. He chuckled. "That's right. The prophecy you saw about us... it was indeed a bad omen! Because I am an extraordinary man!"

The next morning, in the Sea Forest, an underwater forest filled with shipwrecks—also known as the "Ship Graveyard"—Sephiroth emerged from a dimensional door. In the middle of the forest, two large Poneglyphs stood.

"Even though I'm not interested in Roger's treasure, since I'm here, I might as well take a photo," Sephiroth murmured, taking out his camera. He photographed the blue Poneglyph that contained Joy Boy's apology to the Mermaid Princess, as well as the red Poneglyph that contained the coordinates to Laugh Tale, where the One Piece treasure was located.
