Rex didn't wait. With a roar, he charged the boss monster—blazing with fire, his aura flaring like a star gone mad.
A few brave hunters followed, driven by his unshakable courage.
BOOM!
Explosions shook the battlefield as fireballs collided with the monster's shield. Smoke filled the air, suffocating everything. The sheer heat forced even the strongest hunters to fall back, coughing, eyes burning.
But Rex didn't move.
He stood his ground—eyes locked on the beast.
As the smoke cleared, the monster emerged—scarred. Blood dripped from its left foot, right arm, and shoulder.
Rex smirked. "You're not as tough as you look."
But the monster growled—and its wounds began to heal. Skin and muscle stitched together unnaturally fast.
Rex's smile faded. "Healing…?" he muttered, the weight of it sinking in.
Every time he landed a blow, the damage vanished.
And Rex—he was bleeding. A deep gash opened on his leg. Blood soaked his pants. He staggered and quickly grabbed a broken metal rod nearby, using cloth to tie it tightly around his thigh. Crude—but it would hold.
He had to keep going.
Meanwhile, the other hunters were falling back. The fight was turning hopeless.
That's when he remembered. The crystal.
Earlier, when he'd unleashed all his elemental powers—fire, ice, wind, earth—they had merged for a brief moment into a single glowing crystal. He'd thought it was a mistake. Now, he realized—it was a gift.
He pulled it from his pouch. It pulsed in his palm, syncing with the energy of the monster.
"Let's see if this matters."
He hurled it straight at the monster's chest.
BOOM!
The explosion cracked the sky. Energy burst outward. The monster howled in pain. Its healing stopped. Deep fractures split across its chest like shattered glass.
Rex didn't wait.
He slammed his hand to the ground. Vines and roots erupted—his earth element grabbing the monster from all sides, locking it in place.
Then—his eyes turned to the clouds. One final element remained.
He raised his trembling arm. Summoned every last drop of lightning he had left.
"Fall."
A bolt tore down from the heavens like a divine hammer—striking the monster's exposed core.
CRASH!
Silence. Then dust.
The monster was gone.
The monster was gone.
Rex stood… for just a second.
And he breathed—almost in relief.
"I've fulfilled… my responsibility," he whispered.
Then his legs gave out. He collapsed to his knees, blood soaking the earth
As his vision blurred, and the world darkened, he whispered—
"This time… I did it right."
And smiled.
