Shawn had lived in Dorne City for so long that he couldn't be more familiar with the Night Watch Headquarters.
He skillfully made his way to the vicinity of the underground labyrinth where the sealed objects were stored, then began to cast spells on himself, completely concealing his presence. Although Shawn had swapped bodies using the Mind Exchange, his Casting Level remained unchanged. Transcendent beings on the Mind Path could permanently swap bodies if necessary, using a change of identity to hide themselves. However, permanent mind swapping would lead to a decrease in Extraordinary Level and a loss of part of one's fused Extraordinary Essence.
