It's merely due to some unknown reason, or the power level is too high, or some other reason, that Austin's memory and soul body suffered severe damage.
"Forget it, these are not things I can reach with my current power, let's talk about it later."

Continuing to think about it will only add to the troubles.
Austin no longer tried to use Plum Blossom Divination to glimpse the Celestial Secret. That level of power that silently erased his memory had already intimidated him.
Before understanding the power of this world, Austin probably won't take the risk again.
