Gu Mansion
In the bathroom, Qiao Yuxian sat on the washbasin.
All the skin exposed was red, so red it seemed like it would bleed.

Gu Yanjing stood next to her. Beads of sweat hung on his forehead and neck, gleaming under the incandescent light.
His breathing was a bit heavy. In silence, he held Qiao Yuxian's right hand and gently washed it under the faucet.
His movements were slow and very gentle.
The more boisterous Qiao Yuxian was yelling outside the bathroom, the more timid she became once inside.
She was so timid that she couldn't utter a complete sentence at the end.
