Claire prepared the children's dinner, and following Yin Shixiu's request, she cooked a pot of millet porridge.
Yin Shixiu ladled the millet porridge, prepared a few side dishes, and quietly carried the tray into the room.
Shuangshuang and Huang Huang knew their mother was ill. Seeing Yin Shixiu enter the room, the siblings followed, but both tip-toed, worried about their mother yet afraid to disturb her rest.
Yin Shixiu softly said to Shuangshuang and Huang Huang,
"Go out and eat dinner. Eat well and mom will recover faster."
Shuangshuang and Huang Huang couldn't grasp the logic, but whatever Dad said was absolutely right!
So the siblings tip-toed out again, climbed onto their chairs, and obediently waited for dinner.
In the master bedroom, Yin Shixiu placed the tray on the bedside table and sat by the bed,
"Meng Meng, have something to eat."
Su Xiaomeng lay on her side. Her tears had dried, but her eyes, having cried, felt sore and painful, almost unable to open.
