Chapter 34 - Chapter 29: Another Murder Case Occurs

The four walked out of the Black Rose base, and everyone outside had their eyes popping out and their self-esteem dropped to the ground. Weren't these the four silly freshmen from earlier? Four went in, two became reserve members, and two became full members???

Is this a wholesale deal???

The eyes of the girls in line suddenly heated up, like little suns. Almost all eyes were on Roland. Looking handsome was one thing, but he also directly became a member of the Black Rose. How outstanding must he be?

"Junior, hello, can we get to know each other?"

"Junior, what's your name?"

"Do you have a girlfriend? There are many beauties around me, oh..."

The eyes of the surrounding male compatriots turned green. Were these the same cold senior sisters and junior sisters? Normally, they acted like they were above worldly matters.

Usually, you had to compliment them for half a day, and they'd only give an indifferent response.

Lu Shuai couldn't stand it anymore and dragged Roland away. Watching someone else show off was more painful than not being able to show off himself.

Roland also breathed a sigh of relief, "People here in the Celestial Capital are so enthusiastic; it's more exaggerated than in Moncalleta."

Lu Shuai: ...

At noon, as the host, Lu Shuai voluntarily treated everyone to celebrate their joining the Black Rose. More importantly, it was to celebrate Li Xin and Roland becoming full members.

"You two first punish yourselves with three drinks. Goddammit, the first rule of the Canon Law School dorm: don't pretend to be weak and then catch your own brothers off guard. Shouldn't you two be punished!" Lu Shuai said.

He thought he and Huerta were the most impressive, but it turned out Li Xin and Roland were even bolder.

Roland smiled slightly and downed a drink, "I've long heard that the Dragon's Roar of Lirong is excellent, indeed crisp and refreshing, quite extraordinary."

Li Xin also drank it down, with a hint of fragrance amidst the crispness, feeling like it was only about twenty degrees and very comfortable, "Roland, a toast, brothers, let's all have one together, to our meeting."

"Cheers!"

Lu Shuai and Huerta also raised their glasses, marking the initial encounter of the four brothers at the Canon Law School.

"This is good!" Huerta slapped his thigh, "Boss, give me a big bowl."

Drinking from glasses felt weak. Lu Shuai quickly stopped him, "It's just noon, let's keep it symbolic."

"That's fine." Huerta scratched his head apologetically. Once he drank, he'd forget the main point. Saxons were famous for loving their drink.

"Sigh, I thought I would dominate my life at the Canon Law School, but now there's Roland, so handsome and strong. At least he's a brother," Lu Shuai had come to terms with it; he couldn't compare, "Ten times, you're too fierce. Are you stepping down?"

Roland nodded lightly, and Lu Shuai and Huerta both looked surprised and envious, impressive.

"Cough cough," Lu Shuai wiped the liquor from the corner of his mouth, "You... you're leaving no room for others, looking handsome and being able to fight. Are you here to pick a consort from us?"

Roland shook his head and pointed to Li Xin, who was devouring his meal, "This is the real hidden talent."

Roland had already made a name for himself in Moncalleta and was the same wherever he went. Entering the Black Rose was no surprise.

With a piece of braised pork stuffed in his mouth, Li Xin chewed fiercely, "Don't deflect the damage. I've never even been to the Holy Land."

Roland smiled, "Whether or not you've been to the Holy Land has nothing to do with strength. I trust President Luo Xue's judgment."

Li Xin gave a wry smile, "I'm just here because of connections."

It's likely Luo Jin pulled some strings; joining the Rose Society brought significant convenience and was a great boost for the future, even without tasks. His cheap uncle was being too much. Is he suggesting he push a bit more for his aunt?

A mouth that says no while the body is honest, darn old man.

Lu Shuai immediately understood. It's likely this was his long-lost uncle, enabling him to surpass the norm. It's probably a high-ranking member of the Canon Law School or even an illegitimate child, topics too sensitive to ask about.

Li Xin didn't brush them off, but such matters were not to be shared broadly. Lu Shuai quickly changed the subject, "Roland, release your charm, but remember to leave some girls for the brothers; don't take them all."

Roland laughed, "I have no romantic intentions; I came to the Celestial Capital to study. They have the best Hex-Tech here, and although Moncalleta doesn't pay much attention to it yet, I believe Dao Yuan Continent's future lies in Hex-Tech."

"Haha, very good. Coming all this way, how can we drown in romance? As real men, we should aim high, like the great Grand Governor Luthor, and achieve great things!" Lu Shuai immediately got inspired. If Roland wasn't pursuing romance, maybe he could play a supporting role?

"Starting with becoming a consort?" Huerta suddenly said seriously.

"Damn, Huerta, you're wicked. You never remember anything this clearly for other matters."

Everyone laughed, ending the delightful lunch. Lu Shuai wanted to go home to report the good news and grab some money. As a rich second generation, instead of starting a business, handling home matters was quicker and safer for making money.

Huerta, on the other hand, had a Saxon gathering. At the Canon Law School, there were Saxon groups, and Huerta becoming a reserve member of the Black Rose was a proud achievement to share. Joy shared is joy doubled.

In the following days, courses at the Canon Law School were arranged, mainly focusing on Spiritual Ability and Hex-Tech, with many courses on these subjects. Arts and similar subjects were electives, with less stringent requirements.

Time quickly flew to the weekend. Li Xin naturally went home. After a few days, it seemed Xueyin had grown taller. Aunt Fei was paying more attention to maintaining her looks. A young married woman was exuding charm at an incredible scale. What could be done? She grew more beautiful every day.

Unexpectedly, Aunt Kathy was also there.

"Xueyin, why is she here? Doesn't she have a home?"

"While you're not home, Sister Casey often comes over to play and brings me lots of delicious and fun things. Hmph, much more generous than you."

"Oh dear, you little traitor, let me give you a beating!"

From Xueyin, Li Xin learned that Aunt Fei and Kathy had many topics in common and got along extraordinarily well.

"Why didn't you call Uncle Luo for dinner today? You should care more about him," Li Xin laughed. He didn't mind Kathy visiting often; he liked the kind that came with food expenses.

Kathy didn't refute this time, but sighed, "Recently, there's no time."

"Oh, what's going on?" Li Xin sensed Kathy seemed under a lot of pressure.

Kathy smiled wryly, "You're not an outsider. The captain didn't want me to tell you, but a heads-up might be good. Recently, there have been continuous disappearances in the city, even more severe than the last time with the Licker. Each time, there are no traces left behind..."

"Xueyin, when you're done, go do your homework," said Lin Fei. Xueyin was listening intently, eager to hear more about monsters, big monsters, not sure how many legs they have. But seeing Lin Fei's stern look, she could only pout and leave grudgingly.

"Sister Casey, continue. How can there be no traces at all? Aren't there skilled trackers in the Night Patrol?" Li Xin asked. Luo Jin himself was renowned for such skills and probably had relevant abilities.

"I don't know. I'm not a frontline Night Patrol. Anyway, all the team members have been deployed. This thing always commits crimes accompanied by fog. When the fog disappears, the people also vanish, and witnesses can't see clearly," Kathy explained.

"Who are the victims, is there any pattern?" Li Xin inquired.
