"How is it okay?" Lawrence Winters asked, puzzled, "No matter if I go with Brother Yuan or with you, I'm just a tagalong, and besides, I wasn't even given an invitation."
"How can that be the same?" Nick Zeller exclaimed, "If you go with A Yuan, you'll only be known as the fiancée of the third wife's brother of Boss Spencer. But if you go with me, you'll be known as the niece of Boss Spencer's eldest legitimate son. Which identity do you think is more distinguished?"
Lawrence Winters laughed, "Are you admitting you're Boss Spencer's eldest legitimate son now?"
"I always have been." Nick Zeller shrugged, "Though I'd rather not have anything to do with him, he refuses to let me go, so I might as well see what he's really up to."
Lawrence Winters knew, as Nick Zeller had always taught her, that if you encounter an obstacle you can't avoid, you shouldn't try to sidestep it; just face it head-on with confidence.
