Looking at him, Corrie smiled.

Maybe he wasn't as bad as she had thought him to be. The night she had bumped into him in the train some months back. He had been staring intensely at her and it made her uncomfortable
When she had gotten to her stop, he followed her out and held her hand. He took her to a corner and she could still remember his words vividly
"Look, I know this might sound crazy and scary but you have to believe me and you also have a choice of running away after you hear what I'm about to say right now" he said in a rush that kind of scared her
"Okay" she said slowly and he closed his eyes for a while
Corrie looked at his face, his lashes was long and full like a girl's and he has an almost inhumane beauty, he opened his eyes again
"Okay, I'm a vampire and I think you're my mate..." Maverick couldn't complete his statement because she ran off, at such a full speed that at the blink of an eye she was gone
Maverick himself wasn't expecting anything less either, she was human so it was only natural she got scared and the only thing in her mind to do was run. So he didn't chase after her but he always made sure to be close to her without her even knowing
"Last night.... Did you know I was going there too?" She asked
"No, I was only with my friend for a drink" he said
Corrie finally looked around the room again
"Where are we by the way?" She asked
"My friend's place, we can outside when you're ready" he said and she nodded
"I think I'm ready to go out, the headache reduced for a bit"
Maverick led Corrie outside when she was done eating, the first person they saw when they opened the door was Livia who happened to heading downstairs too
"Corrie?"
"Livia, what are you doing here?" Corrie was also surprised
"I live here, what are you doing here too?" Livia asked back
"Uhhhhh" Corrie trailed and Livia turned to Maverick with opened jaws when she suddenly realized something
"Yes" Maverick replied with rolled eyes
"Awwww, you guys are so lucky, I'm the only person that haven't seen mine yet" she said wiping imaginary tears off her eyes
"What is she talking about?" Corrie asked Maverick who shrugged innocently
"I don't know"
They went downstairs and met Darcia in the living room with a mug of milk in her hand while her eyes were glued to the TV screen
"Morning Miss Adrielle,... Miss Adrielle?"
"You're awake, how are you doing?" Darcia asked calmly
"I'm alright now... How come...." Corrie trailed and turned to Maverick again
He said they were in his friend's house, does that mean Darcia was his friend?. She also realized something else, if Maverick was a vampire does that also mean....
"Yes, your suspicions are correct" Darcia said as if she had read Corrie's thoughts
Maybe she has who knows
Corrie looked around the room, it was day but there was literally little or no sun coming into the house, it was just cool with not much sunlight
Corrie turned to Livia who also nodded
"Do not open your mouth....."
"It's definitely confidential Miss Adrielle" Corrie cut Darcia off with a salute
"Good". Darcia nodded
She turned off the TV and turned fully to Corrie
"Why were you there yesterday?" She asked and Corrie narrated to her
How she had gotten a call from her ex who turned on his location and asked her to meet him, at first she had thought she was lost not until he showed up outside the door and took her in
She saw different dangerous looking people in the table she and her ex sat, before she knew it, they were bidding how much they would buy her. Finally a man won with the bid of 2 billion dollars
Her ex was freaking smirking while she was taken away, she was pleading while he took his wine and walked away, he freaking left her with them
"Can I have a photo of your ex?" Darcia asked and Corrie thought hard before nodding, she brought out her phone and showed Darcia a photo of her ex
Darcia's eyes darkened as she saw the man, slowly her creepy smirk came on. It turns out that Corrie's ex was Zachary's son, Darcia sneered at this
"Turns out he's not as smart as her father" she said and Corrie looked at Maverick with a confused face
What does she mean?. Even Maverick was confused
"That club, it's the mist dangerous in this City, you might've been raped and sold within minutes, in hours you might've been smuggled out of the country like a drug" Darcia said and Corrie shuddered just at the thought
She had been close to being raped last night if Maverick hadn't barged in
"Be careful in the future" she added and Corrie nodded
"Thank you ma'am... I mean Miss Adrielle"
"Hmm" Darcia nodded and turned on the TV again.
Livia looked at Jevin who stood at a corner without a word, she pouted cutely at him
"I'm hungry Master Jevin" she said but Jevin didn't cast her a glance
"I'm not the cook Miss Livia" He replied with a blank gaze not sparing her a glance
"Why are you so wicked and heartless, you don't even care that I haven't eaten" she sniffed dramatically
"Stop being dramatic sleep walking Miss Livia" He said and left her
Livia's mouth opened in shock as she watched him leave
"He's so wicked and evil and cold and...and boring" She complained before going to the dining room
"He even knows about my sleep walking.... Ahhh so embarrassing" She covered her face in shame.

Later that evening, Darcia was walking down past a restaurant when her eyes suddenly caught someone familiar, she stopped walking and turned. To her surprise she saw Denzel seated with Amelia in the restaurant
She recognized Amelia immediately as Zachary's secretary. That's right, she had done some diggings about Zachary and everyone related and around to him, she found out that Amelia works for Zachary but she had no idea Amelia was the person Denzel was dating
Infact, she was even surprised. Darcia thought about something and looked at them again
"Interesting" Darcia raised her brows
She immediately had a rough idea of what might be happening.
But something apart the feeling of suspicions was there, for a reason she didn't like Denzel smiling at Amelia. Now it actually made her think of something
What will happen when he finds out about her real identity?, With emotions supressed in her gaze she turned and continued walking
Denzel happened to look up and he saw Darcia walk away
"Miss Adrielle?" He muttered abs Amelia looked at him
"Who?" She asked
"No one, I thought I saw someone I knew" he said and immediately dismissed the topic
They went back to talking again.
