As soon as Ethan Seymour spoke, James Reed's heart tightened, and he silently cursed, "Damn!"
Ethan, extremely angry, had long forgotten James Reed's thousand cautions and instructions on the way there. Now, his discontent occupied his mind.
"For the company, I've even gone to his house to ask him. Not only does he not appreciate it, but he humiliates me. Dad, what exactly do you want me to do? Am I to kneel to him?" Ethan angrily questioned, "As part of the Seymour Family, isn't he supposed to contribute to it?"
"Does he just enjoy the dividends and do nothing?" Ethan became increasingly agitated, "James works hard for the Seymour Corporation, and I don't understand, Dad, why do you insist on favoring that idle Charles Seymour, while ignoring James's efforts!"
Faced with Ethan Seymour's resentful questioning, Old Mr. Seymour found that he was not the least bit inclined to be angry.
He genuinely wasn't angry; why get angry with such a muddle-headed fool as Ethan Seymour?
