Bella Green looked at Jeremiah Bennett with a demeanor as if he were facing a formidable enemy, feeling nothing but a headache.
"Why did you bring him along?" Bella murmured softly.
Mason Bennett raised an eyebrow slightly, leaned down close to her ear, speaking in a voice so light it was like a whisper.
"Since he doesn't know about our relationship, let's let him find out."
The warm, damp breath tickled her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.
Bella couldn't help but try to move away.
But Mason pulled her back with a displeased frown.
"What are you dodging for?"
"Mason Bennett, why are you getting more and more childish? It's just a kid, is it really necessary? And he's your brother, too."
Bella looked at him speechlessly, initially thinking that given his personality, he would simply tell Jeremiah their relationship and scare him off in no time.
