Eva Nightingale tries to get used to the days without Lucas Knight.
"I won't attend the banquet at the Imperial Palace." Eva wants to return to the Sovereign Empire because she thinks Sebastian Yansford is away on a "business trip," so she plans to return to the Empire without telling him, assuming he's not at the villa.
Sebastian Yansford has been shot, and the injury is quite serious. Not wanting Eva to worry, he makes up a white lie, calling his recuperation a "business trip."
It will take at least a month to return to Eastern Europe.
"Auntie, I'll come back to see my uncle in a month." In a month, Sebastian will probably have returned from his trip.
"Well..." The maid hesitated for a moment before agreeing, "Alright."
It's difficult, wanting to tell the truth, but the maid can't bring herself to disclose it. If Eva knew Sebastian was in danger, she'd surely be frightened again.
