"Woman, do you think you can escape?"
He shoved the woman in his arms into the passenger seat and forcibly buckled her seatbelt:
"Carrying my heir, where can you escape to? Hmm?"
His sudden change left Eva Nightingale seemingly stunned... even a bit afraid of him.
He didn't say anything further, just drove the car away.
Half an hour later, the car came to a steady stop under the Nightfall Palace. He got out, walked to the passenger side, opened the door, and scooped her into his arms.
Then, holding her, he walked straight into the Nightfall Palace, into the presidential suite.
Eva was tossed onto the big bed.
Initially, she thought he intended to do something bad, but unexpectedly, he simply stood up without looking at her and left.
The heavy, ornate door closed once more.
Eva didn't move, her eyes moist again. Was something wrong with her? She pinched herself hard. It hurt. This wasn't an illusion. It was all real!
