Her tears fell like raindrops.
"Why are you crying? Hmm?" He pinched her chin, did she know or not, he couldn't stand to see her cry! Absolutely couldn't stand it!
Eva's chin was pinched painfully by him, almost about to shatter.
She held back her tears, pushed his hand away, and turned to leave.
She didn't know what went wrong, but with a woman's intuition, she realized he wasn't Lucas Knight... definitely not.
This feeling, utterly unfamiliar, so unfamiliar it was as if the person she once knew wasn't him at all.
Or perhaps, she never truly knew him. It turned out, she really never understood him!
Lucas Knight's fingers froze in midair, stunned, his head buzzed with pain, in his mind, it seemed there were two voices, constantly clamoring:
"No...you can't hurt her! Give her whatever she wants, even the stars in the sky, give them all! You can't let her lose even a single hair, can't let her cry! She's carrying my heir...can't let her cry!"
