The Rising of Iris Leos:
Chapter 2:
*Anchor man impression* *Picks up a random earpiece* "You will now be getting a briefing on the different types of elemental mana and a short montage of what happened in the daily life of Iris Leos and Eric Leos for the past 16 years." *Throws earpiece* But before that. Important note: My mom's power automatically transferred into my body when she passed... My dad discovered this when I was at the tender age of 2 because of these two features I possessed:
1.A full head of snow white hair and white eyes like my mother.
Within this world , a mage's hair can also indicate their elemental affinity...at-least sometimes...in my case however... I'll be mistaken for a healer because a mere human was never known to have pure light mana.
2.My father refused to give me more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (my mother's and my personal favorite) after I scarfed down an entire loaf. Therefore, I did the only thing I knew how to do at that age which was screaming, crying and glowing , reminding him of my mother when she was hangry from being deprived of her favorite snack as well. (Hangry- Bad tempered, Irritable or as some would say...a b*tch fit. As a result of immense hunger)
Also my elemental tattoo developed at age 6. Which was strange because this usually develops on humans at ages 14-16. Where they would then participate in different contests or entrance exams in order to enroll into a magic academy and no different to the world before magic existed...if you are fortunate enough or just lazy...You can simply bribe your way into the academy without having to put in any real effort or hard work.
An elemental tattoo is an outline of a specific creature imprinted on either the left or right forearm of those who possess an element. The outline mimics the color of the element possessed.
The elemental tattoo comes in ranks determined by the rarity of the element that an Awakened developed. Beginning with the White Dragon i possess known as the lightning elemental tattoo being number one. This is unknown to the mass majority since they have never seen one in real. The other elementals which derived from the White Dragon ranked by rarity are:
1. Blue Saber-Toothed tiger known as the ice elemental tattoo.
2. Mythical Red Phoenix known as the flame elemental tattoo.
3. Aqua Blue Crocodile known as the water elemental tattoo.
4. Green Ferruginous Hawk known as the wind elemental tattoo.
5. Brown Silverback Gorilla known as the earth elemental tattoo.
6. Iwakuni White Snake known as the healing elemental tattoo.
A couple years has passed since my father began giving me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches three times a week to prevent the extinction of humanity and the absolute destruction of this world by the hands of a hangry toddler. Hand to hand combat training began everyday, 12 hours a day and afterwards I'd often use my spare time to read about my mother and study the skills she possessed because her stories are actually amazing and her fighting style is way better than Eric's....
I was particularly moved by his reason for becoming a fire fighter nevertheless. At the young age of 10... His mother and father died while saving him when his school burst into flames from a terrorist bombing. They dived into the building head first without sparing even a second thought. A true display of unwavering courage. Where were the firefighters you may ask…well none of them were willing to put their lives at stake by going into the middle of a fire to save one kid....After learning what it truly means to be a hero...ever since that day .Eric was never the same. He pledged to become stronger. To become a hero. To never be afraid and to always be there to rescue someone in need.
*Intense training montage begins* *Cue Rocky theme song* He began training under his grandfather, who was a retired Muay Thai grandmaster. *Muay Thai- commonly known as the art of 8 limbs and the most lethal fighting style utilizing kicks and punches with your knees and elbows* Eric trained day and night for 10 years. Strengthening his mind and body. At age 20, earning the title of Grandmaster. Eric's grandfather felt at peace being able to help his dream come true. Sadly, he passed away soon after. Leaving Eric with these last words, "Remember. All heroes don't wear capes. Go out into this world and set your heart ablaze." Does anybody have any tissues? *sobs* *Blows nose* Thank you.
As I was saying, that's the reason my father became a firefighter and for the past 10 years, since I was 6 years old.*Cue Rocky Theme song once more* *Another intense training montage* He's been teaching me Muay Thai and how to utilize my mother's power for physical enhancement. Since I wasn't able to use any of her skills until now because my body would have been obliterated in the process. *As embarrassing as it is to say* My training is now over and I've only been able to achieve the title of master...even with the assistance from physical enhancement...Never being able to beat my father once.
Apart from that, each time we battle, I get closer to winning and I've been getting these unrefined flashbacks of my mother battling for these past few months. Feeling as though there exists some sort of connection between her power and the flashbacks causing my body to react... I wasn't sure what was going on but my father gave me her old wrist bands which supposedly kept her power 'under control'. While wearing these , he reassured me that the reactions will be suppressed and I would have nothing to worry about while participating in the Crimson Arts Academy Entrance Exams: The Hope Games ...It's been a pleasure narrating the story for you all thus far.
