In Britannia, there were only a handful of beings capable of sending Barghest flying like that.
Whether it was herself, the Queen, or the God King—they were all here. So who could possibly…
As Melusine wondered, she finally saw the ominous figure clearly and froze.
"Woodwose…"
"Oh? I thought you'd lost the ability to fight. Yet you still managed to crawl back here." Shiomi spoke coldly. "Fang Clan Sub-Bell, you passed through the underground Vein Corridor, didn't you?"
"Kill… kill you…" Woodwose looked utterly ragged, half his body already Moss-corrupted.
His immense magical power, mixed with the Curse's calamity, was consuming his sanity bit by bit.
"How foolish. Ever since I sealed the Beast God's remains, Britannia's calamities have vanished. The Vein Corridor should have been safe enough." Shiomi's tone returned to the icy indifference he always held in Britannia. "But you were simply unlucky."
"Put down… the Queen!" Woodwose roared.
"Such admirable loyalty. But I refuse." Shiomi raised an eyebrow. "The Queen of Winter is already in my custody, Camelot has become a sea of fire, and your nation falls today. If you value your life, retreat now."
Morgan could only fall silent at that.
"Isn't… that basically throwing oil on the fire?" Melusine took up a combat stance but couldn't help asking.
"No need to fight them head-on. Cover us. Once we leave the city, you must retreat as well," Shiomi told her.
"You think that after storming Camelot, capturing the Queen, and setting our royal city ablaze, you can still come and go as freely as before, God King?"
Before Melusine could answer, dense ranks of fairies flooded in from three streets at once. Spriggan, the Earth Clan's chief, questioned him triumphantly.
It was the armies of all four clans.
Camelot's troops had been spent fighting Londinium, while the clan armies had barely taken losses.
To fairies, the raging fires throughout Camelot were hardly a real threat.
"Your royal city?" Shiomi lifted his chin. "As I recall, this capital was constructed by Morgan's Magecraft. What exactly have you fairies contributed? And yet you dare call it 'our royal city'?"
"Never expected His Majesty the God King to have such a sharp tongue," Spriggan said, as confident as ever.
"Judging from Her Majesty the Queen and His Majesty the God King's behavior, they hardly look like captives. Could it be that rumor—" Aurora feigned surprise.
She possessed the ability to hear every rumor spread across Britannia.
Ever since she became the Wind Clan's chief, Aurora had been gathering whispers and conducting secret investigations.
But Shiomi's actions had always been flawless. He had anticipated long ago that fairies would try to uncover his connection with Morgan, and destroyed all records from the fairy era.
All Aurora had ever found were clues that seemed plausible but lacked the strength to prove anything.
