The morning light spilled unevenly over the scorched earth where the facility had once stood. Kara, Adrian, Ronan, and Tessa gathered silently, each wrestling with the weight of what they'd uncovered—and what had almost destroyed them.
Kara's gaze was distant. "Vane wasn't just a man. He's become something else. Something… unstoppable."
Adrian clenched his fists. "Then we have to find his weakness. Everyone—even monsters—have one."
Ronan exhaled sharply. "We're dealing with someone who has rewritten the rules of life itself. We need more than guns and gadgets."
Tessa's eyes lit up. "I found something buried in the data archives. A hidden protocol file… labeled 'Nemesis.' It's classified at the highest level—only Vane and a few others knew of it."
"What's Nemesis?" Kara asked.
"It's a failsafe, a weapon designed to neutralize the Lazarus Protocol. But it's incomplete… missing pieces," Tessa explained.
Adrian looked at Kara. "Then we find those pieces. Before Vane can finish whatever Phase Omega really is."

Later, as the team poured over stolen files and encrypted messages, Kara's phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number:
"They lied to you, Kara. The truth is darker than you imagine. Meet me if you want answers. Midnight. The old observatory."
Her heart skipped. The message was both a warning and an invitation.
She showed Adrian. "What do you think?"
He studied her. "If this is a trap, we'll be ready. But if it's a lead, we can't ignore it."

Midnight came, cloaked in mist and silence. Kara moved through the abandoned observatory, every nerve alert.
A figure stepped from the shadows—a woman, her face lined with years and secrets.
"I'm Mara," she said softly. "I knew your mother. I know the truth about the Lazarus Protocol. And I can help you."
Kara's breath caught. "Then start talking."

Kara nodded, determination hardening within her.
