Kaelen's POV
The taste of copper filled my mouth as I bit the inside of my cheek, trying to stop myself from completely losing it. The sound of Seraphina's voice on the phone still echoed in my ears, her cold dismissal slicing through what remained of my heart.
"She's with Valerius Stone." I spat the name like poison, pacing the length of my office.
Orion slumped forward in his chair, head in his hands. "What the hell is she thinking? She barely knows him."
I slammed my fist against the wall, leaving a dent in the plaster. The pain was nothing compared to the agony tearing through my chest. My wolf was going insane, desperate to claim back what was ours.
"She's trying to hurt us," I growled. "She picked the one person she knew would drive us crazy."
"Can you blame her?" Ronan's voice came from the doorway. He looked terrible – dark circles under his eyes, hair uncombed, his usual impeccable appearance nowhere to be found.
