Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Citadel Fractures – Evil Morty's Gambit

POV: The Citadel of Ricks – President Morty's Private Quarters

The Citadel's artificial sun cast a sterile glow over the sprawling metropolis of Ricks and Mortys. Within the highest tower, President Morty—known to some as Evil Morty—stood before a vast digital display, his singular eye scanning streams of data.

Evil Morty (muttering):

"Zane's conquest of the Dreamforge... He's rewriting the rules of reality itself. If he reaches the Central Finite Curve, our sanctuary becomes a prison."

He turned to his aide, a Morty variant with cybernetic enhancements.

Evil Morty:

"Initiate Project Exodus. It's time we escape the confines of the Curve."

The Central Finite Curve: A Barrier of Control

The Central Finite Curve was a construct designed by Ricks to isolate universes where they reigned supreme, effectively filtering out realities where they weren't the smartest beings alive.

Evil Morty:

"They built this wall to protect their egos. But walls can be broken."

The Plan: Breaching the Curve

Evil Morty (addressing his inner circle):

"We'll use the Citadel's Dimensional Drive, overcharge it with the energy harvested from Operation Phoenix clones. Their sacrifice will power our escape."

A holographic schematic of the Citadel's core systems illuminated the room.

Cyber Morty Aide:

"Sir, overcharging the drive could destabilize the Citadel."

Evil Morty:

"Then let it crumble. Our goal lies beyond."

Execution: The Escape

As the Dimensional Drive powered up, alarms blared throughout the Citadel. Ricks and Mortys scrambled, unaware of the true purpose behind the surge.

Evil Morty (broadcasting):

"Citadel inhabitants, this is your President. Today, we break free from the chains of predetermined superiority. Today, we embrace the infinite."

The drive reached critical mass, tearing a hole through the Central Finite Curve. Evil Morty stepped into his personal ship, its portal gun glowing with a unique golden hue.

Rick and Morty Wiki

Evil Morty:

"Goodbye, Citadel. May you find purpose beyond servitude."

With that, he vanished into the multiverse, leaving the Citadel to its fate.

Aftermath: The Citadel in Chaos

The breach caused the Citadel's infrastructure to collapse. Survivors gathered in emergency shelters, the once-mighty hub of Ricks and Mortys now a fractured shell.

Rick C-137 (arriving at the ruins):

"He did it. The kid actually did it."

Morty:

"What now?"

Rick:

"Now, we deal with the consequences."

Location: Spiral Throne Citadel — Origin Zone

Zane stood in front of the Unification Wall, a three-dimensional map of the multiverse carved in living metal and quantum light. Each universe he had conquered glowed a deep crimson. The others? Dark voids waiting to be conquered.

The screens behind him hummed with Citadel surveillance reports. Evil Morty had done it—he'd ripped a hole through the Central Finite Curve. The multiverse was open to him.

And yet, Zane's face did not stir. Cold. Calculating.

Eris (projected):

"The Citadel broken. Evil Morty has breached the Central Finite Curve.

Should I prepare our thrust into the outer multiverse?"

Zane turned slowly, his red eyes glowing like dead stars.

"No. Let the boy run. Let him drown in the madness he's running towards.

I do not run into infinity.

I make it kneel."

He raised a hand, and the Unification Wall responded.

Eris:

"Current sectors under Zane Authority: Nine universes. Full conversion complete."

Zane's voice was low and crisp:

"Nine is infancy.

I want fifty by nightfall.

Two hundred by dawn.

Initiate the full-scale purge."

Operation: Crimson Eclipse – Full-Scale Universe Acquisition

Zane's war machine burst outward like a cosmic virus. Across space and time, his fleets tore through reality after reality.

His instructions were brief:

No negotiations.

No delays.

No survivors outside the conversion protocol.

The Null Hive and Cyberion District spearheaded early incursions. Phantom Augurs tracked down surviving Ricks who had fled into hiding.

Conquest Report: 9 to 200 Universes

Timeframe: 6 days

Results:

191 additional universes assimilated

Conversion Rate: 100%

Civilian Integration Success: 98.3%

Total Clone Planets constructed:

10,000 per universe

= 2 million new Clone Planets

Factories built:

~80,000 per universe

= 16 million super mega factories

Shipyards:

25,000 per universe, forming orbital belts of war-forges, building dreadnoughts, wormhole cruisers, and multiversal jump fleets.

Army Fortresses:

15,000 per universe, manned by Spartan, Zanite, and Robotic forces.

Civilian Cities:

Rebuilt from the ground up. Sky-bound and subterranean.

Engineered to provide thought-energy, dream-refinery compounds, and clone-grade nutrients.

Each universe now bore the mark of Zane's empire: massive obelisks in the shape of the Spiral Throne, hovering command citadels, living banners made up of engineered biomass that screamed the names of dead Ricks.

New Robot District Expansion — The Rise of the Zantonions

Zane entered the Cyberion Genesis Forge, an orbital world-machine powered by consumed dimensions. He called forth his most extreme creation to date.

"We need towers of war. Living artillery. Enforcers of terror. Not machines…

Monuments."

And thus were forged the Zantonions.

Height: 11 to 12 feet

Core: Compressed neutronium spines, covered in viral emotion-absorbent alloy

Power source: Living reactors seeded with god-flesh and viral plasma

Voice: Synthetic bass tones that caused unshielded minds to hemorrhage

Weapon systems:

Hand cannons capable of atomizing cities

Sonic obliteration emitters

Planetfall thrusters that turned descent into an act of bombardment

Each Zantonion was hard-linked to Zane's throne via a command algorithm.

Eris:

"Zantonions now deployed in Division Sigma-Aegis and Division Cyclone-Thorns.

Estimated shock-and-awe effect: Total."

Additional Division Upgrades Military District:

Ash Vultures – Atmospheric deathdrop units specializing in burning cities out of the air.

Iron Shepherds – Psy-warriors implanting obedience dreams in captured populations.

Woundglass Legion – Blade-dancers infused with fractal nerve-toxin blades.

Navy District:

Starveil Hunters – Teleporting destroyers that stalk rogue Ricks through time.

Entropy Chain Cruisers – Pull entire fleets into dimensionally folded fate-loops.

Omega Sun Carriers – Solar-fusion megaships capable of delivering black hole siege fire.

Civilian District:

Mindform Designers – Clone-culture architects who implement the very beliefs of new populations.

Dreamsmiths – Engineers who forge bespoke realities for economic and psychic stability.

Civic Mantle Guard – Bureaucrats with memory-splitting implants; able to process whole planetary data at once.

Robot District (additions):

Mech-Obelisks – Walking fortress command stations mobile.

Neuro-Seers – Living logic surveillance drones capable of pre-detecting and editing real-time prophecy.

Zantonion Vanguard – Planetary garrison standard in every universe now.

Aesthetics of Conquest — All universes rendered Zane's

Each universe he conquered was a canvas, and Zane painted them in colors of dominance.

Skies permanently dyed crimson-gray

Monolithic statues of Zane forged from darkglass

Galactic borders shaped into the Spiral Sigil

Moon-sized forges in every system

Reality-fabric saturated with obedience fields, placating resistance before it began

Each city had a Loyalty Obelisk, pulsing Zane's voice every twelve hours:

"You are not ruled. You are guided."

"You are not free. You are forged."

Zane's Final Words of the Cycle

Zane was on the Corebridge Spire, overlooking two hundred shattered and remade universes, and he spoke — his voice carried on every speaker, every satellite, every neural link.

"You saw the Citadel shatter.

You saw a Morty run towards the great beyond.

You ask yourselves if I chase.

But I do not chase.

I plant.

I sow.

And when the multiverse is ripe—

I will harvest."

Eris drifted with him, silent for a time, before finally speaking:

Eris:

"Two hundred pacified. Over a trillion devout. Clone Planets spreading exponentially.

Shall we ready the multiverse war?"

Zane looked out into the infinite black beyond.

"Not yet.

I want one thousand universes kneeling before I take a single step across that chasm.

And then, the multiverse will see.

what a god looks like."
