The auras of the two Pokémon had reached their peak. After a moment more of staring, they finally moved, with Charizard launching the first attack.

Fire Spin swept towards Garchomp, the golden flames forming a vortex that engulfed Garchomp.

The moment it was enveloped, Garchomp burst through the ring of flames.

"It seems Charizard's flames are indeed formidable."

Jiang Chen watched Garchomp closely. The Garchomp that had broken through the Fire Spin was also slightly affected.

If it had been the previous Charizard using Fire Spin against Garchomp, Garchomp probably would have completely ignored it.

Seeing Garchomp take flight, Charizard immediately followed suit.

The two Pokémon collided in mid-air. Garchomp used Dragon Rush without holding back. Charizard didn't dodge;, locked on by killing intent, it used Flare Blitz to meet Garchomp head-on.

"Boom!!!"

The air vibrated, and the two colliding Pokémon retreated simultaneously. Charizard was pushed back more, as its strength was still slightly inferior to Garchomp's.

Though it was only a one-tier difference, a one-tier gap was actually not small. In a battle between experts, even a tiny difference could determine victory or defeat.

Charizard, wreathed in golden flames, breathed out a stream of fire, using Flamethrower to strike at Garchomp, colliding with Garchomp's Dragon Pulse.

The resulting storm swept outwards.

When the storm reached Jiang Chen, Gardevoir intervened, blocking the storm directly and preventing it from affecting Jiang Chen.

"Is Charizard battling Garchomp?"

A familiar voice sounded from behind.

"Sister Ning Ya, why are you here?" Jiang Chen turned his head to ask.

"Young Master, you didn't even look at the time. I came to tell you to come back for lunch."

At this, Jiang Chen finally glanced at the time. He had been so engrossed in watching the Pokémon training that he had indeed forgotten the time.

"Now that you mention food, I do feel a bit hungry. Let's go back to eat after their battle ends."

Eating wasn't urgent; they could go after Charizard and Garchomp finished their fight.

"Why did you let them fight? And why have Charizard's flames turned golden?"

Ning Ya was very curious after noticing Charizard's change. Its flames had turned golden, and their temperature seemed to have increased significantly.

"Mainly to test Charizard's strength after its transformation 223."

Jiang Chen explained to Ning Ya the reason for having the two Pokémon battle.

As they conversed, Charizard and Garchomp clashed again. Charizard consistently used Fire-type moves.

In reality, Fire-type moves typically weren't very effective against Garchomp, but the power of the golden flames perfectly compensated for this.

Jiang Chen felt that if Charizard used Flamethrower now, even against a Water-type Pokémon of similar strength using Hydro Pump, Charizard's flames might not be suppressed.

After several consecutive attacks, Charizard actually gained an advantage. Its flames were indeed powerful, especially when a Blast Burn landed on Garchomp.

Garchomp was now charred black all over, clearly injured by Charizard's Blast Burn, and it was thoroughly enraged.

The furious Garchomp unleashed Dragon Rage on Charizard.

Dragon Rage was a rather special move; the angrier the user, the greater the power of its Dragon Rage.

The Dragon Rage unleashed by the now enraged Garchomp was, of course, terrifyingly powerful.

Dragon Rage dispersed Charizard's Flamethrower and struck Charizard, causing it to cry out in pain and fall from the sky.

Just as it was about to hit the ground, Charizard flapped its wings, flying up again and avoiding a crash.

In doing so, it also evaded the Dragon Breath that Garchomp immediately launched afterwards.

However, Garchomp swiftly used its terrifying speed advantage to appear before Charizard and struck it with Dragon Claw.

Now completely serious, a full-power Garchomp was quite formidable.

"It looks like even with stronger flames, Charizard isn't Garchomp's match."

Ning Ya looked up at the battle in the sky.

"Indeed, Garchomp is stronger. If they were of equal strength, the battle outcome would truly be unknown."

Charizard being suppressed did not come as a surprise to Jiang Chen. Charizard was, after all, at a disadvantage in terms of raw power.

If both were Quasi-Elite Four, ninth-tier, the battle result would indeed be hard to say.

"Let's move back a bit."

Glancing at Charizard, Jiang Chen determined that Charizard intended to use a powerful move, and immediately pulled Ning Ya back.

Sure enough, the sky turned fiery red as the battered Charizard furiously used Overheat, its wide-ranging flames staining the sky golden yellow.

The beach below turned into glass crystals.

Rolling heat waves swept over them. Fortunately, Gardevoir blocked the heat, but even so, the temperature there felt like standing on the rim of a volcano.

"Can Charizard turn the tide?" Ning Ya watched expectantly.

"Probably not."

Jiang Chen shook his head. It would probably be difficult to turn the tide.

As expected, after the flames dissipated, Garchomp's body still stood tall, albeit with some burn injuries.

Hyper Beam shot towards Charizard. Having just used Overheat, Charizard was affected by extreme exhaustion and couldn't dodge, watching helplessly as Hyper Beam struck it.

"The battle should be over…"

Jiang Chen hadn't finished his sentence when the Charizard, which had seemingly been smashed to the ground, stood up again, having not lost its ability to battle.

"I underestimated Charizard a bit."

Seeing this, Jiang Chen couldn't help but say.

"From Charizard's stance, it looks like it's going to use Blast Burn for a desperate final struggle."

Jiang Chen was very familiar with moves and could determine what Charizard was about to use just by its posture.

In a flash, flames instantly surged towards Garchomp, then exploded with a roar, completely engulfing Garchomp.

"It all depends on whether Garchomp can withstand it. If it can, Garchomp wins. If not, Charizard wins." After this move, Charizard was almost completely depleted.

Moreover, using a powerful move like Blast Burn would also affect the user, leaving it unable to move.

Garchomp's figure was blasted back a hundred meters, leaving a huge crater in the sand, its entire body almost blackened.

Charizard panted, looking in Garchomp's direction. Before it could celebrate its victory, Garchomp stood up and unleashed a full-power Dragon Pulse on Charizard.

The fact that Garchomp endured such an attack showed how strong its defense was and how thick its HP.

However, although Garchomp won this time, it was not an easy victory.

"Gardevoir, heal them both."

Jiang Chen said to Gardevoir.

Both of them were injured. Charizard, as the loser, was heavily wounded, but Garchomp was not lightly injured either.

"Have they both reached Elite Four strength?" Ning Ya asked Jiang Chen.

"No, they are both still Quasi-Elite Four strength for now. Charizard is only Quasi-Elite Four, eighth-tier."

Hearing Jiang Chen's words, a look of shock flashed in Ning Ya's eyes. She had thought it was a battle between Elite Four.

Although they were still Quasi-Elite Four strength, she felt that even against Elite Four-level Pokémon, they both had a fighting chance.

Gardevoir used Heal Pulse, and after several uses, their injuries had mostly recovered.

Garchomp ran into the sea to clean itself, and the charring on its body disappeared.

Hardy Pokémon recovered especially quickly.

"Let's go back."

Gathering his Pokémon, Jiang Chen and Ning Ya went home for lunch.

After lunch, Jiang Chen didn't go to the beach to train Pokémon again, but rather trained on the back mountain. He could also let his Pokémon spar with the Pokémon on the back mountain.

The Pokémon his father had caught on the back mountain were quite strong, so Jiang Chen's Pokémon didn't lack opponents.

In battle, progress was always the fastest.

"Slaking's battles are always so brutal."

In the previous battle, Slaking easily defeated a Venusaur. This Venusaur was probably a Pokémon his mother had caught, with Quasi-Elite Four, ninth-tier strength, but it was defeated by Slaking, who was fighting above its level.

Because Slaking had the Huge Power ability, it wouldn't slack off in battle, and its strength improved quickly.

At this time, Slaking was Quasi-Elite Four, sixth-tier. Without the aid of plates and orbs, such rapid progress in strength was already remarkable.

The main reason was Slaking's excellent talent and potential; after all, it was a Champion-potential Slaking, so how could its strength not improve quickly?

"Next, it's time to consider challenging other Gyms."

Jiang Chen had already obtained the Tianhai City Gym Badge. Next, Jiang Chen planned to go to Luojiang City, adjacent to Tianhai City, to challenge the Violet Gym.

The Violet Gym was also a famous Gym, and its Gym Leader was quite strong.

"Then I'll let Charizard and Sylveon perform too."

Jiang Chen glanced at Sylveon, who was training diligently. Although he loved Sylveon very much, Jiang Chen was still very strict with it.

Therefore, Sylveon's strength was not weak; after all, it also had Champion potential, good talent, and fast strength growth.

After all the Pokémon finished sparring, Jiang Chen let them rest for a while.

When their stamina recovered, Jiang Chen called over the mischievous little fellow.

", use your Psychic to put some pressure on them, but be sure to maintain control and don't hurt them."

Hearing Jiang Chen's words, it nodded its small head, then unleashed its Psychic.

Instantly, all of Jiang Chen's Pokémon felt as if they were carrying a huge mountain on their backs, as if they were pressed down by a mountain.

Depending on each Pokémon's physique and strength, they endured different amounts of pressure. Dragonite bore the most pressure because it was the strongest.

"You all, resist the pressure and continue training."

This was equivalent to creating a gravity room artificially, which would definitely benefit their training. Even Gardevoir trained among them.

"Gardevoir, you can try to use your spiritual energy to resist its Psychic." Jiang Chen said to Gardevoir.

"Alakazam, you do the same, use your spiritual power to resist the Psychic pressure."

Their main goal was to train their spiritual power, including Meowstic and Espeon. Jiang Chen instructed them all to use their spiritual power to resist.

The main focus was spiritual strength, with physical strength as a secondary focus.

This training was tough. After half an hour, Jiang Chen made them all stop.

None of the Pokémon complained or showed fatigue, which made Jiang Chen very happy.

"With this, you will definitely become strong. In the future, you will all reach at least Champion-level."

Jiang Chen encouraged them.

"Bana!"

Listening to Jiang Chen's encouragement, Venusaur couldn't help but lower its head, its eyes filled with disappointment.

It could feel that its other companions were improving very quickly, and its own improvement speed couldn't compare to theirs at all.

Therefore, it felt disappointed and lacked confidence in becoming a Champion-level Pokémon.

Jiang Chen naturally noticed Venusaur's despondency. He walked over and gently stroked Venusaur's head.

"Trust me, as long as you are willing to work hard, you will definitely not be inferior to them in the future. Venusaur, do you trust me?"

Jiang Chen looked into Venusaur's eyes.

"Bana."

Extending a Vine Whip, it gently rubbed against Jiang Chen, indicating its trust.

"You will definitely become a strong one. I promise you, in the future, you will become the strongest Venusaur."

Jiang Chen made this promise to Venusaur.

He had a system. Although Venusaur's talent was only Quasi-Elite Four, changing Venusaur's talent was not impossible. Just like Nidoqueen, the former Nidoqueen also had Quasi-Elite Four potential, but now Nidoqueen at least had a chance to become an Elite Four. In the future, even Nidoqueen would definitely become a powerful Champion-level Pokémon.

"Today's training is over. Let's continue tomorrow."

Jiang Chen took out the High-Grade Energy Cubes and distributed them to all the Pokémon to replenish their nutrition and restore their stamina.

"Nido!"

Nidoqueen cried out to Jiang Chen, indicating that it still wanted to continue training.

From before, Nidoqueen had always been the most diligent among all of Jiang Chen's Pokémon, and now Nidoqueen was still the most hardworking of all his Pokémon.

And its hard work had paid off; Nidoqueen was now Quasi-Elite Four, seventh-tier, and its strength was improving particularly fast.

The other Pokémon generally had the help of plates and orbs, but Nidoqueen did not; its strength relied entirely on its sweat and effort.

"Rest well, Nidoqueen. I know you're very hardworking, but if you overtrain, it will deplete your potential and affect your promotion to Elite Four, understand?" Jiang Chen said seriously to Nidoqueen.

Hard work was good, but overdoing it was not. Overtraining could deplete one's potential.

A Pokémon's potential generally could not be increased, but its talent potential could decrease.

Depleting potential would cause one's talent potential to be affected and decline.

"Knowing you like to battle, I'll send you out next time we challenge a Gym."

Jiang Chen's words made Nidoqueen's eyes light up slightly. He would send it out to battle? Nidoqueen excitedly jumped up.

Actually, it wasn't that Nidoqueen was particularly fond of fighting; it wanted to participate in battles mainly to prove its worth to Jiang Chen and gain more of his attention.
