The Luna Locks on Avira's neck came off, and her scent doubled. I felt my wolf stir up happily from within me, but I kept a straight face.
She was not happy that she was mated to me, and she did not bother to hide it. Her expression had been happier when it was Dylan's turn to mark her, and now that I stood in front of her, her face was twisted up in a frown.
My wolf stopped stirring in excitement, and whimpered in disappointment instead. "She'll come around," I said in my head. "She'll come around." I repeated, and hoped it would be the case.
"Do you consent to be marked by Declan Thiago as your mate?" Shammar's voice called out, forcing me out of my thoughts.
I fixed my gaze on Avira who was looking at me now with expressionless eyes. I saw Avira shake her head, to refuse me from marking her, and my heart skipped a beat. But my father's angry voice rang out, and stopped her from saying anything.
